Taking a closer look at Lord Botetourt softball ahead of Friday’s #1-#8 game

Lord Botetourt softball is an average Softball team and first glance with a record hovering right around .500 but if one takes a closer look at their schedule a large number of things will jump out at you.

Five of the 12 loses the Cavaliers suffered were by just one run and three more of them were by two runs. 2/3 of their defeats were still up in the air until the final out was recorded.

Carroll County and Lord Botetourt had one common opponent in Three Rivers District Champion James River. CCHS split with the Knights with the loss being 1-0 at home. LBHS traveled to James River back on April 5th and fell to the Knights by a final score of 3-2.

Lord Botetourt played a home and home series with the Regional #2 seed Cave Spring. While they dropped both contests they were by scores of 11-9 and 5-3.

Carroll County will be fine tomorrow night with the other Cavaliers as long as they don’t take the Win for granted. With the Coaching staff in place at CCHS there’s no way that the team will be looking ahead at the next game on the schedule.

5:00pm ceremony to celebrate the recent success of the JV program and First Pitch is slated for 6pm.
