Collectively our teams trailed 6-0 early but both of the teams stormed back to defeat the Mountaineers 14-8 (Softball) and 13-8 (Baseball ) and claim a pair of District Championships.

Alan Worrell has agreed to run a rare JV story in the Carroll News so per the norm I will write ✍ a story for him and then share it here once he posts it.

Congratulations 👏👏👏 to both of the teams today and major Kudos to the amount of Parents that made sure they were there to support their little ones !!

With today’s visit Alleghany High School 🏫 pulls into a tie 👔 with James River with 5 visits during the 2022-2023 School year.

If you’re not old enough to remember the great Harrison Ford line about snakes then that Banner won’t make much sense to you.

After spending the entire season calling out the players name as they came to bat at Cavalier Park there was no doubt that when the day came for the younger Softball Cavaliers to compete in a winner take all post season game I would be there to support them. Today is that day and of course its going to be up at Alleghany High School 🏫!

There’s not playing at home then there’s playing in the suburbs of Covington. First pitch is set for 5:00 for both the JV Baseball game and the JV Softball game so leaving Carroll County much after 2pm is cutting it close.

While the play of the JV teams is impressive enough to earn both of them a spot in Today’s games, it is worth noting that the efforts put forth by their parents 👏 is off the charts ! They show up in large numbers regardless of the place or time to be there for their youngins and that moves me to the point of wanting to write ✍ about it.

Kudos to each family 👪 member who makes the 250 mile loop today to be there for their children and know in advance that its okay to say – “Alleghany, why did it have to be Alleghany?”
