Track at 4:30 in Radford and Softball at Home with first pitch set for 5pm are both hoping that the weather will cooperate a little.
Magna Vista sits at a perfect 17-0 with four other schools reaching double figures in wins, including Christiansburg at 11-4-1 while competing in the tough River Ridge District. Abingdon swept the Mountain Seven at 12-0 but went 0-4 outside the league. Both Bassett(12 wins) and Tunstall (13 wins) had strong seasons while chasing Magna Vista in the Piedmont District.
With the Top Five accounted for let’s focus on the group just below and the potential seedings for 6-7-8. Lord Botetourt landed at 9-9 with the benefit of an 18 game schedule with Carroll County landing at 7-7-1 and Cave Springs checking in at 7-8-1. The remaining four teams finished well out of the mix but it will be exciting to see where the Cavaliers land on the seed list and where their first game will be played at.
Magna Vista leads the way with a 16-1-0 mark but five other teams reached double figures in Victories, including our very own Lady Cavaliers. Here’s a snapshot of the Group of 12 as we await the Regional seedings – note that six of the 12 managed to get in 17 games while six fell short. Carroll County added a late season trip over to Honaker to reach 14 games played but that total is still the lowest of the group.
16 Wins – Magna Vista (16-1-0) 17 played
14 Wins – Abingdon (14-3) 17 played
12 Wins – William Byrd (12-1-3) 16 played

NOTES – The Regional seedings should be announced shortly with the schedule of the opening round games.
The understanding is that the Top Ten make it with 7 versus 10 and 8 versus 9 being the play-in games
Cave Springs sits atop the River Ridge at 10-1 and is 14-4-1 overall (19)
Christiansburg is 8-3 in the River Ridge and 14-5 overall (19)
Lord Botetourt is 8-3 in the Blue Ridge and 14-7 overall (21)
Magna Vista is 9-5 in the Piedmont and 13-10 overall (23)
Tunstall is 8-2 and atop the Piedmont and 12-5 overall (17)
William Byrd is 7-4 in the Blue Ridge and 12-10 overall (22)
Abingdon swept the Mountain 7 at 8-0, 12-4-1 overall (17)
*** Carroll County is 5-4 in the Three Rivers and 11-7 overall (18)
Northside is 5-5 in the Blue Ridge and 11-9 overall (20)
Hidden Valley is 6-6 in the Blue Ridge and 10-9 overall (19)
Bassett is 6-7 in the Piedmont and 10-9 overall (19)
Staunton River is 4-8 in the Blue Ridge and 8-15 overall (23)
NOTES – The number of games played range from 17-23 as the season closes out and the list above is in the orders of numbers of victories, not winning percentage. Carroll County has a very important game remaining with Radford this week in regards to their Region seeding. Earning a 12th victory and finishing above .500 in the District will help the team land a higher seed. The records of the teams were gathered from Max Preps which sadly is still prone to having a score listed twice for the same game, giving a team two wins or two losses for a single contest.
