West Virginia Wesleyan College made the trip down to Charleston for a double header and the two teams split the pair of games.

West Virginia Tech University will return to action 🎬 on Friday afternoon.

  The routine for our Golden Bears 🐻 is to play on Tuesday each week, ahead of a 3 game weekend series on Friday – Saturday or Saturday – Sunday.

  This week was set to be a special trek as D & E is where Skipper Lawrence Nesselrodt played his collegiate Baseball ⚾️ and do so well enough to make his way into their Hall of Fame a few years back.

The game today was relevant today for another reason as River States Conference league leading Oakland City is heading to Beckley for a series starting on Friday afternoon at 3pm.

The team will look to build on the momentum of taking 2 of 3 against Shawnee State last weekend.

First Pitch in Game #1 is set for High Noon..

Shawnee State enters the day at 17-11 overall and 7-6 in the River States Conference. The school is located in Portsmouth, Ohio., just over 2:30 of a drive from Beckley.

Golden Bears 🐻 win the nightcap 7-6 to win the weekend series, 2-1

Nearly 60 runs 🏃‍♂️ scored across the three games, 29-28 in our favor.

Playing against D & E each year is special for Skipper Lawrence Nesselrodt as our Head Coach is a member of the school’s Hall of Fame. We took game one after the 11am first pitch in Beckley today.
