Davis Reitzel continues his Senior Day Tour with his 4th of 5 and βœ‹ tonight and here’s your free ticket 🎟 to see the Ceremony for him and the rest of the Boys πŸ‘¦ Soccer ⚽️ team tonight !

The other night πŸŒ™ out at Galax High School 🏫 I shared a moment with Sarah Alderman’s Father about her having four Senior Days this year. She had one for Volleyball 🏐, Basketball πŸ€, Soccer ⚽️ and Track πŸ‘£.

That lead me to thinking about anyone else who might of had four this year and I started thinking about Davis Reitzel πŸ€”.

It turns out that this week Reitzel will participate in his fourth and fifth ceremony, with both Soccer (Monday) and Track πŸ‘£ (Wednesday) set to wrap up the tour. Earlier it was Cross Country, Basketball πŸ€ and Academics.

Tonight, in an effort to make Soccer ⚽️ a bigger part of the Spring equation, have partnered with Coach Johnson and AD Darrin Mathews to create a FREE night πŸŒ™ of Soccer ⚽️

All fans that choose to attend and does so before the end of the JV game will do so for free!

Girls Soccer ⚽️ is at Alleghany, Middle School 🏫 track is on the road and Baseball ⚾️ is at 🏑 tonight. Both Middle School Baseball and Softball gets underway at 4:30 at home.

At 5:30 – JV Soccer ⚽️ will take the field for a pair of 30 minute halves to be followed by the Senior Day ceremony and then the Varsity match with Alleghany High School 🏫.

We would love to see any and all folks looking to cheer on the Cavaliers stop by Tommy Thompson Field tonight !

Marion Harris and Coach Johnson team up to take us inside our 3-3 draw with Galax βž• News about Monday’s match with Alleghany !!

From Forrest :
I don’t have stats on jv but Jv played a great team game (5-0 victory) with multiple different players scoring or assisting. It was a big time win for them considering they lost to galax the first time playing each other.

Varsity had a hard fought 3-3 draw. Goals were scored by Davis Reitzel (2) and Alexis Ruiz (1). Assists by Yahir Ruiz, Oliver Lopez, and Davis Reitzel. The Varsity boys played their tails off and gave everything they had and we are very very proud of both teams

From a reporter stand point that loves good soccer, this was a fun back and forth game. Two teams battling it out. An intense rivalry that ended in a 3-3 tie. Both teams really left everything on the field and it was great to see the teams hugging and letting everything go at the final whistle!!! Good luck to both teams as they are getting ready for the postseason run!!!

Great youth night turnout and it was awesome to see theee of the players from our record setting 1999 Boys team!!!!

The term we like to use when we try something for the first time here in Carroll County is a Test Balloon 🎈.

This coming Monday night we are trying hard to test the theory of Sponsorship for a Night of Soccer ⚽️.

Both our Boys πŸ‘¦ and Girls πŸ‘§ programs are playing on the Pitch at a High Level right now but are having trouble drawing fans to their Home matches.

One of the obvious issues is that eight other teams wearing our School 🏫 Colors are also competing during the Spring months.

There are four main reasons that someone might not attend a CCHS Soccer game –

#1- Already busy on that night πŸŒ™

#2 – Don’t have a natural interest in the game of Soccer.

#3 – Don’t have an extra $7.00 per person to purchase tickets 🎟

#4 – Some combination of items 1-3

Forrest Johnson will be celebrating Senior Night πŸŒ™ so here’s a chance to share in that ceremony

Eight good reasons right there !

The marketing tool we are trying to take out for a test spin in this –

Find a local group or business that would be interested in Sponsoring a game, which in turn would make the match free for all spectators. How does this work ? Said business, which Monday will be OneofUs.Care writes ✍ a check to the High School 🏫 to cover the approximated amount of gate receipts.

The sponsor would be the focal point the entire night πŸŒ™ and would be encouraged to pass out information or free promo gifts 🎁.

They would receive a game ball to take home 🏑 with them at the end of the night πŸŒ™. In a perfect World 🌎 there would be Spirit contests between the various teams and groups within the School with the top group receiving recognition for having the most members attending.

Our Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer team will be up at Alleghany that night and Baseball ⚾️ will be playing at home. But as of know everyone else will have the night off and don’t forget about all of the Coaches and Athletes from the Fall and Winter Sports… Here’s a chance to show School 🏫 Spirit without it costing anything but time.

Everyone out there who is part of a group that feels their group deserves a bit more acknowledging, here’s your chance to help out another group !

All you have to do Monday to be a part of this latest Test Balloon 🎈 is make it to Tommy Thompson Field before Halftime of the Junior Varsity match and admission is FREE!

The charge of the normal $7.00 will resume afterwards.

Forrest Johnson, Ben Tickle, Jeremy Pruitt and their Assistant Coaches have something to be proud of and let’s see πŸ‘€ if we can help showcase it for them all !

Marion Harris shares his view of Ashlyn Newman and her Kick Six !

Carroll vs Galax girls

Carroll coming into this game at 5-1 looking to move to 6-1 before playing rival Radford the next day on the hill!!!

The game starts out all Carroll but remains 0-0 then the unthinkable happened Galax went up 1-0 on a miscommunication in the back and Galax took advantage of it.

The Cavaliers gave up an early goal against Galax but the next seven goals will come from two players and they both play for Carroll!!

Carroll County Senior captain, Ashlyn Newman helped put two on the board before halftime the first came from a nice assist from the other captain Karmen Smith.

The 2nd goal was unassisted putting the Cavs up 2-1 at the half. Cavaliers with about 8 mins to go looked to go up 3-1 but the cavalier player was offside and the goal did not count.

The 2nd half was all Cavaliers when they added five 2nd half goals. The first came off a PK from Newman making it 3-1 Cavaliers!!! The 4 and 5 and 7 goals all came from the combo Harris to Newman.

The sixth goal was Alexis Sheffey to Sophomore Callie Harris. The six goals by Newman was a record breaking performance times two!!! Both records were held by Cavalier and Emory standout Adrienne Harris.

The former record was 5 goals and 1 assist for 11 pts in one game. Newman topped that by scoring 6 goals for 12 total points!!! Newman now sits 7 away from breaking the career scoring record.

The Cavaliers play again tomorrow against Radford on The Hill at 6 pm.
