The Good Book says to Love ❀️ thy neighbor….. the start of our Women’s Basketball πŸ€ doubleheader starts in neighboring Chapel Hill !

Things that make you realize that you are wired a little differently…..

Living in a World 🌎 where you don’t believe that it’s okay to ” Hate ” anyone or anything, we open our Sunday back on the Campus of UNC – Chapel Hill.

Going all the way back to the early 1980’s, I have always had an appreciation for all things Tar Heels.

Being responsible for the newspaper πŸ“° circulation on the campus for the Greensboro News and Record was a starting point to be followed by spending a semester on the same dorm floor as two kids with the last name of Jordan and Perkins. Chapel Hill is a special place with Franklin Street being a must stroll when you are here.

Moments away from the Tip of #5 Maryland and #4 UNC. Maryland was one of us for a long, long time before they bolted to the Big 10 a while back. Should be a great game to watch amongst the powder blue seats πŸ’Ί.

More to follow….
Next Stop βœ‹οΈ, 4pm
Let’s do this !
Dueling Jump Photos πŸ“Έ

Media TO at 4:26 (1), Terps 10, Heels 6

Early observation – Maryland appears to be 1 step quicker in the early minutes. Heels success has come from driving πŸš— to the glass.

Solid crowd in the Gym with the breakdown being roughly 80/20 in favor of the home team. Both teams have their Pep Bands in the house.

Brenda Frese runs a great program up in College Patk and has been doing so fir a long, long time βŒ›οΈ. She won πŸ† a Natty back in 2006.

Carolina has awakened now, and so has the crowd! End of 1st, Heels 22 – 17.

Brenda calls πŸ“ž a TO at 4:58 as her Terps are now down 11, 34 – 23.

Halftime score – UNC 42, U of M 33 (12:53)

In just a few minutes, the third team in the Triangle πŸ”ΊοΈ will tip off up in Ann Arbor versus #2 seeded Michigan. North Carolina State 🐺🦊🐺🦊🐺 looking for the upset πŸ˜‘πŸ‘€.

Michigan 11, NCSU 8 – mid first

Maryland gets the first 4 of the second half here, Heels lead by 5. Winner gets #1 UCONN.

Media TO at 4:11 (3) – Heels 48 to 41

Live Look-in provided for the Wolfpack game during the breaks !
End of 1st

End of the 3rd here, and we are knotted up at 50 – 50! (1:36pm)

Michigan 11-0 run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ to start the 2nd, lead the Pack by 10.

Final Media TO at 3:27, Heels up 63-58. Maryland led briefly at 52 – 50 at the start of the quarter, but UNC answered quickly.

Pack answered back with a 12-5 run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ. Now at the break.

UNC up 8 with 0:49.4 left

Heels πŸ‘  will advance to Sweet 16 after holding off the visiting Terrapins.

It’s time to make the 11 mile trek over to Cameron Indoor Stadium now while listening to the second half of the Wolfpack game.

2:11 pm – time to head over.

2:59 – safely in the parking garage on Science Drive. Michigan dominated the 3rd quarter and is bringing the Wolfpack season to an end. Solid season for NCSU and the entire roster is eligible to return.

Just over four months ago, we boarded a flight ✈️ to Paris, France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· for the season opener of the Lady Blue Devils. The opponent that night πŸŒ™ was Baylor University. Here we are today, looking to advance to Sweet 16, and once again, it’s the Baylor University Bears 🐻 standing in the way.

Starting lineups in 20…

92 – 63 was the final score of the Michigan victory over the Wolfpack.

The announced crowd at Carmichael was 2,470. Would have thought that it was higher by a significant amount.

4:07 pm

Pitching a shutout at the Media TO – 4:56, Duke 9 – 0 !!!

Duke – Louisville for the ACC πŸ‘‘πŸ‘Έ! Both are heading to the Dance πŸ’ƒ and hopefully both opening up at Home !!!

The ACC has been chalk city this week with two toss up games ( 8 vs 9) and (4 vs 5 ) being the only blips. The biggest surprise is that Notre Dame ran  away from the Wolfpack in that 4 – 5 match-up.

Should be a great one !

Louisville up after the 1st, 21 – 14 after a circus πŸŽͺ buzzer beater for Duke

Wow !What a Game !!!!

Duke University advances to the Super Regionals for the fourth time in School history and later today Carroll County High School finally gets to begin their postseason Baseball⚾️ run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ…6pm tonight at Bill Worrell Field.

Slick Graphics !

May 22nd was the last time that Head Coach Casey Burcham led his Cavaliers during a baseball ⚾️ game. Eleven days off in football is called a bye week but eleven days off in between games in baseball is an eternity.

Β  Cave Spring High School defeated host Lord Botetourt 10-0 on Saturday afternoon and the #10 seeded Knights will look to take that MOJO into tonight’s game versus the #2 Cavaliers.

Waiting in the wings is another Roanoke area school, #3 Northside. The Vikings were able to get their quarter-final game played and now will have the chance to scout the game tonight on The Hill.

None of the added obstacles are Hurdles that cannot be cleared by the Burcham Bunch. Carroll County Baseball is in the midst of a season for the ages at 19-1 and they simply need to do all of the things that they have been doing from the get go.

The scheduled date for the all-important Semifinals is Tuesday night, as in tomorrow night. We will have to wait and see if the weather or the powers to be alter this but with the need to play the Regional finals on Friday night, there’s little to no wiggle room.

The Knights and Vikings are all that stands between Carroll County High School and back to back trips to the State Tournament. Anthony Barnes and his Basketball πŸ€ Cavaliers rode the wave of a Senior laden group to the High School 🏫 Promise Land over the winter and now Burcham is within just over 36 hours of possibly doing the same.
