The fifth and final category on the Night πŸŒ™ is Softball, where we have one Victory, one setback and one piece of terrific news !

For the second straight season, Carroll County High School 🏫 graduate πŸŽ“ Macie Adkins has been named Most Valuable Player on the Southwest Virginia Community College Softball team.

The Flying Eagles are set to play Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 with Macie set to pitch the opener.

Both of the Carroll County High School 🏫 teams headed over to Stuart for games with Patrick County.

In the opener, CCHS JV played quite possibly their most complete game of the season. The Lady Cavaliers scored two in the first and added five in the second on its way to a 12-1 victory.

The Varsity game started out well for the Lady Cavaliers as they led 1-0 and 3-1 before Patrick County plated five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead.

Carroll County finished the game with seven base hits to just six for the home team. Addie Greene led the offensive attack with two extra base hits and collected two of the RBI’s.

Β  Natalie Burress added a double and Raylee Goins contributed a RBI single.

Everything went the way of the Lady Cavaliers except the bottom of the fifth inning where getting the final out proved to be the downfall.

Carroll County (4-6) will enjoy the Easter break and return to the Diamond πŸ’Ž next Wednesday at Galax High School.

The schedule for the Junior Varsity team shows a home double header on Wednesday at Cavalier Park.
