Getting ready for a good ole fashioned Showdown at Alan F Knight Field tonight and there’s a Trophy πŸ†on the line…1st Pitch set for 6pm

Central – Woodstock is a perfect 12-0 in road games after upsetting Fort Defiance Wednesday night at Page County is 10-2 at home.

Both teams know that they will be playing Softball next week in the Class 2 State Tournament so there’s no added pressure there other than the winner gets to host their next game while the team that falls short will travel halfway across the Commonwealth.

The Elite Eight is now set and today and tomorrow we find out which teams get to avoid a long Bus 🚌 ride next week.

Central – Page County III has the makings of a instant classic…

Alan F Knight Field was a place of Joy last night as Page County High School Softball holds off Stuarts Draft 3-1 for a 16th straight win. Lady Panthers to host Strasburg on Wednesday evening for a spot in the Class 2 State Tournament.

Shenandoah – The four top seeds in Region 2B Softball all took care of business Monday night, setting up a pair of showdowns for Wednesday. Page County(19-3) pushed its winning streak to 16 straight by holding off visiting Stuart Draft 3-1, setting up a third meeting of the season versus Strasburg on Wednesday.

The old saying that its difficult to beat the same team three times in the same season played out against the Cougars.  Page County had swept the regular season series by scores of 13-1 and 9-3 but Monday night πŸŒ™ the knockout punch eluded the Lady Panthers.

This time around a good ole fashioned pitchers duel developed as Draft sent its Shenandoah District pitcher of the year to face PCHS. The Lady Panthers have plated 215 runs to this point (against 58 allowed) but three would prove to be enough to survive and advance, thanks to its own stellar pitching staff.

The semifinal contest with Strasburg will be another trilogy as the Rams 🐏 played PCHS tough twice during the regular season. The Lady Panthers prevailed 4-2 and 6-0 in the first two contests.

Suzanne Mathias and Alan Knight have been coaching against each other for decades now, in both Volleyball and Softball. When they get together Wednesday night at Alan F Knight Field there will be a little bit extra on the line as the winner πŸ† this time punches a ticket 🎟 to the State Tournament !

#2 Fort Defiance and #3 Central Woodstock will square up in the other semifinal contest.

Alan Knight, Chris Carter and Marion Harris .

While the ACC is slipping in the World 🌎 of College Basketball πŸ€, the Ladies can still play Softball ! Field of 64 is set now

Nine teams chasing one dream, of making it to the Final table in Oklahoma City for the College World Series…

On the next to last day of her College career, our Macie Adkins had herself quite the showing !

The Flying Eagles opened a close out four game set on Sunday afternoon and Carroll County graduate πŸŽ“ Macie Adkins collected four hits, four runs and five RBIS on the day. The team ended up on the short end of the scoreboard in both contests but by the slimmest of margins.

Adkins pitched in the opener and played centerfield in the second game.

The two teams will play again on Monday to close out the season and for Adkins, her two year career in Cedar Bluff.
