Our Kevin Burress checks βœ” in from South Hill on Day 2 !

After not taking the field as originally planned on Friday evening, Carroll County made its debut at 3pm today.

Burress was busy live streaming the game for the folks back home so our updates were a little delayed but here is Kevin’s first take on the opening game.

” We lost game 1 to Powahatan 7 to 0. We gave up 5 in the first inning. I think the nerves really got to the girls. We settled in defensively after the first but we just kept hitting the ball straight to them for easy plays. I’m sorry for the lack of updates and pictures I’m having to use my phone to stream the game live. I’ll try to get pics from the parents and send them.”

Hopefully the team is finding away to relax off the field before taking the field again tomorrow.

” We play tomorrow at 1 pm. I’m not sure of our opponent yet.”

Thank You Kevin ! Anything else that makes its way back from South Hill will get added here later.

Once again we are so proud of these young Ladies and appreciate ❀ their Coaches !

Good Morning πŸ™, Welcome to Friday ! We will be in action 🎬 in South Hill & Blacksburg this weekend..

Last week Mr. Travis Austin took the time to be our Tour Guide for a Youth Baseball ⚾️ State Tournament being played up in Appomattox.

Because two of our favorite words are inclusion and equality, we will spend this coming weekend doing the same for the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers of the Future with the assistance of our own Kevin Burress.

The event is being played over in South Hill, Virginia and gets underway at 3pm today with Carroll County set to take the field around 5:00 pm. We will use the word “around” because up in Appomattox the suggested start times and actual start times were significantly different.

Families will start the drive πŸš— over to Lover’s Leap and beyond here in a bit.

Here is the drive awaiting the group, using CCHS as a starting point. Parker Park is the name of the complex in South Hill.

Also taking place this weekend is the first Tennis 🎾 tournament for recent graduate πŸŽ“ Jabin Talley. First in the sense that its the start of his College Days. Greg Talley will share his thoughts on the experience as it plays out for Jabin and the Family πŸ‘ͺ.

In both cases I will share the updates as they are made available and wish Godspeed on the treks over to the Buggs Island Lake region and to the Land of the Hokie !

Should be a fun weekend for both our future Cavaliers as well as our former Cavalier !

Sadly, another hometown Newspaper πŸ“° prints its final edition πŸ˜’

The community of South Boston (Halifax County) is the latest local town to see the end of the Road. Having spent 47 years and counting in the Newspaper πŸ“° business, it pains me everytime I see one of our “Family πŸ‘ͺ ” have to close its doors.

Funny thing is that I once filled in for these folks back in the day for an one and done cover of Men’s Va Tech at Virginia (JPJ).

Every week that my partners in Homer’s R US (Allen and David) get to keep printing we consider it a Victory!
