It’s 4:53 pm on Wednesday afternoon and its finally quitting time for the architects to back up and head back out to Laurel Fork ! Their portion of the work here at Cavalier Park has been completed π and both Coach Nester & I feel blessed to have people like Paul Nester and Donald Dalton on our team.
I pledged to stay here until they drove out of the parking lot and we are getting close !!
Going to sneak in an Out of Town Scoreboard moment here as KK Newman and Bluefield are hosting Kentucky Christian up at East River Soccer β½οΈ Complex…

One never knows who God will place in your Path on a given day. The search for me, even at the age of 61 years old, is to find people that are smarter than me and have similar beliefs. Hence, the term OneofUs.
Through the kindness of Bill Gallimore, I was presented with a priceless experience on Tuesday morning that led me to a one on one conversation with Mr. McBride. The topic of the meeting was about the efforts of The Fuller Center and trust me, we will get to that, but a number of topics came up along the way.
Everyone in life has their own version of who they are, where they are and who they want to be. Then one either has a relationship with Christ or they do not. Over my efforts the past two decades (the past four years here), I have never sat down with one person that I’ve felt a stronger sense of connection to.
Minus β the part of my new friend having a far superior level of education than I, let’s get that part out of the way quickly. The passion and drive that Mr. McBride has is the stuff that people like me dream about. Whether its a conversation about God’s calling or Education or concerns about the future π of our Youth, the level of conviction is something to treasure.
While most people enjoy the feeling of being the smartest person in the room, I am constantly trying hard to find people that I can soak in their knowledge in hopes of becoming the Best possible version of myself that I can be.
It’s been many a Moon π since Mr. McBride has held the position of Superintendent. Long enough that we are going to have a brand new one next year when Dr. Burnette retires. After his 18 years holding the position, it would have been ever so easy to rest on his laurels but a day doesn’t go by that McBride isn’t trying hard to support our Youth and give Glory to God at the same time.
The Fuller Center for Housing will be the focus on our conversation going forward, I promise π but I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t share my thoughts on the level of the Man that I will be having those talks with !
None of this takes place with out the thought process of our #1 reader and Cheerleader, Bill Gallimore. Thank You Bill !!!
First up : Head Coach Shawn Montgomery sends in his update on the Wednesday Cross Country Race π…
