Β If anyone is wondering what would lead a 60 something year old to commit the rest of his life to promoting Kindness and Faith, its because the World π is full of Hate. I am not sure that I’m going to win the battle but I know that I’m playing on the correct team.
Pray π for the people that have already Lost their lives today down in New Orleans π…
On a Saturday where almost 20% of the Bowl π₯£ games (8 of 41) are played, the Atlantic Coast Conference came up short in each of the four contests.
Β Miami was leading the Pop-Tart Bowl π₯£ in Orlando until the final minute and Boston College rallied in a Big Way late in their contest but the unfriendly Post Season for the league continues.
Β Both Clemson and Southern Methodist University fell in the 12 team Playoff while Florida State, Virginia, Wake Forest and Stanford University failed to make the post season. That brings the list of teams not winning a post season game up to 10.
California, Pitt and Georgia Tech each fell earlier this week so now we have accounted for 13 of the 17 teams.
Β Louisville, Duke and Virginia Tech are next up in defending their leagues honor πas they hope to join Syracuse in the Winners Circle π΅.
Fort Chiswell – Carroll County punched their ticket π to the Championship game of the First Community Bank Christmas Tournament, cruising to a 54-27 victory over Radford Saturday afternoon.
Β The Cavaliers will find Pulaski County waiting for them on Monday afternoon at 2:15 pm.
Β After surrendering the games first point CCHS proceeded to go on a 10-0 run πββοΈ. Radford answered back with the final six and the frame endedΒ 10-7.
Β The Bobcats had no hope of bouncing back from the next RUN though as the Cavaliers applied pressure from beginning to end over the next seven clock minutes.
Β Basketball, unlike Bowling π³ where a red hot player can toss 12 straight Strikes, has no “perfect game”. But the Cavaliers drove to the outskirts of Perfectionville (Yes, just made that up).
Β Landon Kinder opened the quarter with the first of 11 Cavalier baskets π§Ί beginning what would turn into an astonishing 22-2 run πββοΈ. Radford would eventually add a 3-pointer just before the half to pull within 34-12 but it was not going to change the outcome.
Β Offensively, Dane Leonard poured in 18 points and Hayden Jackson added 12 points but this game was all about the Cavs defense. End to End, swarming / ball hawking defense. All 15 Cavaliers played multiple minutes and nine dented the scorebook for Head Coach Jason Stockner.
” Very good win this afternoon! After missing our first four or five shots from close we started converting our shots and started building our lead,”Β Stockner. ” Our defense today was tremendous and it lead to several easy baskets. Everyone played very hard. We need to continue that and clean up some of our execution to continue this success.”
