I never had the privilege of meeting Gustavo Munoz as his time on The Hill preceeded ours, but anyone who has a story about this young man leads with his ability to light up a room with his presence.
Β I am honored to be the one who will be holding the π€ tonight when we have the ceremony between the Junior Varsity and Varsity matches. This is why I’m up at 4am trying hard to absorb as much information about the young man as possible. Even though the ceremony will be brief in length, it simply has to be heartfelt.
From the Soccer standpoint, Gustavo Munoz was finishing up his career as a young Forrest Johnson was beginning his as the head coach of the Carroll County High School Boys team. To say that Gustavo left his mark on Forrest would be an understatement.

Alexia and Sophia are in the photo above with Gustavo, his bride and daughter. Everything that I have found this morning describes a stand-up young man who was loved and appreciated by his family members and friends. A loving husband, a loving Father, and someone who people could depend on.
Losing someone is always difficult, but losing someone who was just six years out of high school just compounds the loss and heartbreak.
Tonight, we will take a few minutes and set them aside to pay homage to the life of a young man who left an imprint on so many people who crossed paths with him.
