At 11:00 am today both the Atlantic Coast Conference and the SoCon will begin the first of their four games on the day. Down in Duluth its Virginia versus Clemson in the ACC and here its the #1 – #8 match-up between UT – Chattanooga and Western Carolina.
The ACC invited 15 of its 18 teams down to Georgia and they began play yesterday afternoon with a triple header.
The three that didn’t qualify
Wednesday took the field down from 15 to 12 as Wake, Stanford and Florida State exited the Arena. The opener is the #8 – #9 game and both Virginia and Clemson are looking to punch π their ticket to the Big Dance π.
Here at the SoCon Tournament, all eight schools qualified and only one is guaranteed to advance to the NCAA Tournament after Sunday.

Is Furman University going to win three straight games to advance to the Bigger stage and then win six straight to become National Champs π??? No they probably don’t have a Billion to One shot at that happening but the old line about the Lottery – you cannot win if you don’t play fits nicely.
Playing in game four of four today versus Mercer University, the path is straight forward. Defeat the Bears π» and go back to the team hotel π¨ for some rest and return to action π¬ at 11am on Friday morning to face the winner of the #1 – #8 tilt.
Fall to Mercer and you pack up your bags π and make the short trip back to campus and watch the next round from your dorm room.
The game played at Timmons Arena back on February 21st is the one that prevented the Lady Paladins from turning the three way tie for the regular season π from being a four way tie.
The Top 3 each swept their opponent today and are safe bets to advance to the Friday semifinals. The Furman – Mercer game, much like Virginia – Clemson figures to be the game of the day.
Here in Ashville until the Paladins are no longer and then its off to Beckley, West Virginia for our weekend series with Kentucky Christian University that is set to begin on Friday afternoon at 2 pm
