Once a year the Glenvar Highlanders make the trek from Salem to The Hill to face our Cavaliers and as Rod Stewart would sing, ” Tonight’s the Night 🌙”.
Both Carroll County High School teams are currently 4 – 4 and have been off since last Tuesday when they wrapped up play in the Fort Chiswell Christmas Tournament.
Glenvar Varsity brings a 4-5 mark to town and have dropped three straight games, including one last night, 77-50 versus Hidden Valley. Their JV team is listed at 2-1 with some results missing.
Tonight marks the beginning of Three Rivers District play for both schools 🏫 and if Carroll County wants to challenge for another District 👑 its imperative that they defend the home court.
Four of the eight games for Head Coach Anthony Barnes have seen the Cavaliers finish North of 80 points on the scoreboard and the team is 3-1 in those contests. Aggressive defense leads to instant offense and hopefully it will be on full display tonight !
