There’s a reason why Kris Richardson is both a Friend and a Neighbor of mine. The two of us don’t have time for self-doubt in our lives so when we set out to make sure we provided coverage for his season, we knew we would never see Kris flinch.
Even on the night that the team saw its record drop to 1-11, Kris knew it was just a matter of time before his team would turn the corner.

Once the train π reached full steam ahead, it took an act from Mother Nature (pictured above ) to slow down the Richardson Express. A series of games fell from the schedule during the recent winter storms and unlike the High School teams, there’s simply no time built in to make up games.
Richardson was feeling fortunate enough that one of the postponed games was added back as the season has been extended one day and the team will travel up to Blacksburg Thursday night.
The latest victory lifted the squad to 6-12-4 with one to play.
‘ We earned a 29-27 win over Ft. Chiswell tonight,” said Richardson. ” After almost a 2 week layoff we barely squeaked by tonight. We had good effort for about a half. Fortunately, we got a lead and were able to hold on. They took the lead late but we showed resilience and fought back. Good enough for the win tonight but we have to play better tomorrow.”
Zari Cushman once again led the offense with 16 of the 29 points. Natalie Dalton added seven points. Briley McGhee( 4 points) and Kierra Robinson ( 2 points) both added clutch baskets π§Ί in the contest.

Tomorrow evening would be incorrect, now that its past Midnight back home π‘ so we’ll say later today, the Battling Lady Cavaliers will wrap up their season on the road.
I need to give Beth Bouldin an extra Thank You π for all of her assistance with providing coverage for the Girls team as her Son plays on the Boys team under Darian Brown. It’s a special person who would willingly take on extra responsibility in an already to busy World π.
