The final piece of business was the contest between the Varsity Lady Cavaliers and the Blue Devils of Grayson County. The scoreboard will show that Grayson County defeated Carroll County 66-44  in a contest full of runs πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ by both teams.

Grayson County opened the game with a 7-0 spurt, a stretch that included many solid shots from CCHS but not any that would drop. Madison Coleman and CC Mitchell would eventually answer with 3 points each in the Cavaliers 6-2 response..

Run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ #2 for Grayson County was 11-1 and pushed the deficit to 20-7. Once again, the Lady Cavaliers answered back as Laynie-Jo Leonard scored an And One 3-point play, Mitchell added a steal and basket 🧺 ahead of Callie Harris drilling her initial 3-pointer in what would turn into a 13 – 5 run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ that took the game to the half at 25 – 20 in favor of Grayson County.

The third run for the Blue Devils was overwhelming as it was quick as the visitors dropped 12 points in the first 2:00 minutes while Raylee Goins snuck in the lone points for Carroll County.

Trailing now 37 – 22 after facing a blitz to start a quarter, Carroll County showed a great deal of fight in their third answer. The team strung together a 9-3 answer to once again pull within six points at 40 – 34.

Grayson County controlled the final 8:00 minutes from start to finish (22-8) and it turned the contest into a lopsided victory that didn’t reflect the resilience that the Lady Cavaliers showed throughout the contest.

When Aaliyah Hampton scored the games final basket 🧺 from the post, it put six of the eight Lady Cavaliers in the scoring column for the contest.

Grayson County – 11.  14.  19   22 – 66

Carroll County  –   6.    14  16     8 – 44

Carroll County (44) – Harris 12, Coleman 9, Goins 8, Mitchell 8, Leonard 5, Hampton 2, Campbell, Young.

Major Props to everyone who helped Coach Mayo and Mr DeHaven make this event possible !!

Christmas Day is right around the corner now and its hard to imagine what the thought process is for various people who are set to Celebrate the Holiday with their loved ones but to not take a moment to acknowledge that Tammy Tobler and her family are feeling an emptiness this week would be unacceptable to me.

If there’s anything that might help, its the thought that Jeff and his Mother are together now after her recent passing.

Tammy, know that you are Loved by many and your pain is our pain. πŸ’˜

Luke 2:9-10
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
