Carroll County JV Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball head into the Christmas πŸŽ„ Break with a perfect 4-0 mark after dispensing the Lady Blue Devils, 32 – 11 on The Hill!

Carroll County JV Basketball πŸ€ team continues to ride the Hot πŸ”₯ Hand βœ‹ of Kate Holderfield (17 points ) but on Saturday afternoon Head Coach Hailey Cushman received plenty of offensive contributions from her roster in their 32 -11 victory over Grayson County on Saturday evening.

The latest victory came at the back end of the just completed Carroll County Christmas Tournament ( Cavalier Christmas Basketball Classic ).

When you add in the two scrimmages, Cushman and her team has outscored their opponents all six times out.

” We started out a little slow tonight but eventually found our groove and locked in,” said Cushman. ” We are seeing progress as a team and as individual players, but we still have a lot of work to do to continue our growth on both ends of the court. Proud of these girls!!! Merry Christmas!”

Easy stats write up: For the AI fans out there ! Having watched the game on the Network, I have to admit that the app does a solid job with the details.

One of the things that I would add is just how many extra possessions by crashing the offensive glass, from start to finish.

It’s worth noting that the Junior Varsity contests were all played as two 15 minute halves in place of four six or seven minute quarters.

Grayson County JV … 8  3 –   11

Carroll County JV Girls continued their perfect season with a dominant 32-11 home victory over Grayson County, improving to an impressive 4-0 record. The team showcased excellent teamwork and balanced scoring throughout the contest, controlling the game from start to finish.

The game began as a back-and-forth battle, with Kate Holderfield opening the scoring with a three-pointer to give Carroll County an early 3-0 lead. Grayson County responded quickly, taking brief leads of 4-3 and 6-5 in the opening period. However, Carroll County’s depth and determination shined through as Holderfield and Milli Parker combined to help the team regain control. Holderfield was particularly impressive in the first half, scoring 11 points and helping her team build a comfortable 15-8 halftime advantage.

The second half belonged entirely to Carroll County, as they opened with Madison Adkins converting two free throws before Holderfield drained another three-pointer to extend the lead to 20-8. Milli Parker then took over with an outstanding individual performance, scoring six consecutive points to put the game away and showcase the team’s offensive versatility. Parker finished with 11 points on efficient 4-12 shooting and a perfect 3-4 from the free throw line.

Holderfield led all scorers with 17 points, displaying excellent shooting touch with 4-9 field goals, including 2-3 from three-point range and 7-12 from the free throw line. The balanced attack also featured contributions from Rylee Woodard, who added 2 points, and Madison Adkins, who was perfect from the free throw line going 2-2. The victory demonstrated Carroll County’s depth and teamwork as multiple players made meaningful contributions in their continued undefeated start to the season.

Have a Great Day !!

Basketball πŸ€ and Puzzles led to this Friday Night Scoreboard for the Carroll County High School Christmas πŸŽ„ tournament :

Seven area teams were invited to join Carroll County High School 🏫 in a brand new Holiday Basketball πŸ€ event spread across three days. Sadly, the field included Graham High School and they were unable to attend.

That turned eight games a day into six games as each School brought both their Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.

Friday would have been Carroll County versus Graham day but there was still six other games held in our Gyms !

Here are the results from Day #1 :

Varsity :

East Wilkes 50, Pulaski County 49

Narrows 72, Grayson County 55

Radford 44, Mt.Airy 38

Junior Varsity :
