I am not sure where to begin but this yearβs Madrigal Dinner is one that we will never forget.Β Words can not even begin to describe how proud I am of these kids.Β Any time I say that I couldnβt be prouder, they soar above and beyond expectations.Β
Despite not being in school the entire week of the dinner, these young people memorized their lines, worked on their songs, and we met together to practice when they could.Β Because of their dedication, determination, and love for what they do, they were able to give two incredible performances!Β Β They made me laugh and made me cry (happy tears) and constantly reassured me by telling me, βMrs. Lineberry, we got this!βΒ
And they did!Β I wish I had the words to express how much I appreciate and adore these kids!Β Β This is a special group of young people and certainly have a very special place in my heart!Wow I am speechless about the performance yesterday!!!Β This is my third year watching this and they continue to amaze me.Β
Watching my daughter do two things she loves in one day was priceless!!!Β Her impression of high school musical π!!!Β I believe this event will be something I will keep coming to even without my child being in it !! Mrs Lineberry is the best and her students are so blessed to have her!!!!
Marion Harris, as the story goes, saw a little Girl looking for something to do Harris suggested that she give Basketball π a try. As they say in Hollywood, the rest is History !

Now, getting back to the Day that Marion had on Saturday over in Southwest Virginia and then back on The Hill.
From Marion :
Yesterday was truly a great day for FCA All Star Senior Volleyball Games at Central Wise high school. Not only did we do one Senior All Star game, we did two! With nearly forty high school seniors from nearly twenty different high schools we did something we had never done. It required much more work and coordination but with the help of many great coaches and volunteers God really blessed us. One of the highlights was our pregame devotions led by players themselves. They were amazing. Then the athleticism displayed on the court had the fans in awe. Talent and skill powerfully executed.
Four All Star Senior teams brought lots of friends and families together for one last opportunity for faith, fellowship and fun! Thanks to all who played a part in one amazing day! From Gary Maggard FCA Rep and organizer of the games
When Marion isn’t discovering talent or helping run FCA events, he stays busy raising three Daughters.
After Volleyball π yesterday, the youngest of the Harris Sisters had to rush back to The Hill for her part in an ensemble cast for a performance π under the guidance of Patricia Lineberry.
More from Marion :
” Our three seniors helped bring together players from five different high schools. Our ladies played their hearts out. Two of the three played out of position and did not miss a beat. Callie Half Pint Harris played right side and teamed up with a future teammate of hers from Bland County Tinley Worley. Tinley was the 1A Libero of the year for VHSL.
Β Β Β The two of them will be a great combo in the fall!!! Callie continued to play at a high level throughout the whole match. Brooke Webb also was out of position but did not blink an eye and played lights out!!! She was able to shut down the offense of the other team with some great blocks!!!
Β Β Her play lead to the coaches from Abingdon and Central to pick her as MVP!!! The last senior we had playing was Laiken Burnett. This game meant a lot to all these players but with Laiken this was a chance for her to finish her career on the floor and not in street clothes. She broke her hand halfway through her senior year and was cleared last week to play. She played great and even shared her story with the gym after the game was over!!!
And for our two coaches they had a blast bring five schools together to play a great game and to glorify our Lord and Savior on the court!! I also enjoyed reffing this game and just loved watching these great athletes play the game they love!!!!”
We will let Marion catch his breath and then we will see π if we have everything as it should be.
