Wytheville – Zari Cushman scored 10 of her season high 21 points in the opening 6:00 and the Lady π© Cavaliers never looked back on their way to a 31-17 victory over Scott Memorial Middle School Wednesday night.
One day after a spirited effort at Patrick County, where CCMS fell just short, Coach Kris Richardson and his team earned its second victory of the season.
” Finally, I’m home before 10 pm and finally we got a victory,” said Richardson. ” Hats off to these girls for continuing to work hard. Perseverance pays off when you believe in the process and believe in each other. Great overall team win. We play tomorrow at home against Radford.”

The Lady π© Cavaliers avoided the slowΒ start that has plagued them for most of the season, cruising to a 23-3 lead at the break and then holding on for the victory. Briley McGhee added eight points and Kierra Robinson scored the remaining basket π§Ί to round out the scoring.
The offense was limited to just three players but the impressive defensive effort went across the board.

Congratulations πππ on the victory over Scott Memorial Middle School !
