Yesterday (Sun Nov 16) Carroll County Special Olympics honored Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan during the last basketball scrimmage they will have with him before he retires at the end of December. Over the years, he has brought deputies, his own family members, and members of the community to play CCSO.
No matter what, he always has shown up and made a difference. In yesterday’s game, 132 points were scored in 54 minutes (nine 6 minute “quarters” so that everyone on CCSO got to play at least 3 times)….that’s an awesome job by everyone! “One Team!” Is more than a motto !
