Carroll County JV Volleyball π dug itself out of an early 1-0 deficit, rallying back for a Three Rivers District victory over visiting Floyd County 2-1 ( 21-25, 25-20, 15-11).
The Lady Cavaliers gained confidence in the opening set, pulling within 19-18 after a light hearted moment where a Volleyball π landed well above the Gymnasium floor. Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven smiled about when the wayward Volleyball might be removed from the rafters.
Scarlett Dalton scored an Ace to trim the deficit to 24-21 before the Buffaloes finally closed out the set, 25-21.
Β Floyd County raced out to a 7-2 lead in the second set but Carroll County rallied to score four straight. Dalton landed two more Aces and Aaliyah Hampton finished a Kill to make it 7-6. The next Cavaliers to step up were Annabelle Short and Aubrey Hanshaw.
Short served five straight and with the score tied 12-12, Hanshaw delivered six straight. Morgan Osborne added two Aces and both Addilyn Stanley & Paige Ogle scored Kills as Carroll County evened the match, 25-20.
Trailing 2-0 in the race π to 15, Hayden Heflin landed a Kill that sent Osborne to the service line again. Travis Osborne had earlier spent a tough couple of minutes worrying about his Kiddo after she took a ball to the side of the head, breathed a sigh of relief that turned into joy as landed four straight winners π from the service line to make it 5-2 Cavs.
Floyd County raced back with a 7-1 run and looked ready to secure the victory at 9-6. Hanshaw said, “Not so fast ” , responding with Kills for points 9, 10 and 15. Once again it was Miss Short on the service line that proved to be the 6-0 run πββοΈ to give the Lady π© Cavaliers the 15-11 victory in the set and close out the match.
It’s closing in on Midnight now and I hope Coach Heflin is sleeping π΄ so we will circle π΅ back to add her thoughts in the Morning π.
