Adrienne Harris McGuire is just getting started in once sense but this focused young Lady πŸ‘©has been on the right path for quite some time now! There were great examples to follow..

2025

Growing up in a competitive family πŸ‘ͺ with two younger siblings certainly didn’t hurt the chances of Adrienne Harris (McGuire, now) turning into a highly focused young Lady.

Mom played Basketball πŸ€ on The Hill back in the day and Dad has a passion for  the Trifecta of God. Family and Soccer.

Success stories in any community is a mix of a number of things and being raised by two loving parents is a tremendous first step. Having quality teachers and role models can jump start one’s life in a serious fashion but at some point, the Individual themselves has to takeover.

Adrienne Harris and her journey has been in perfect harmony up until now. That doesn’t mean that life is easy or without challenges because we all face Hills and Valleys.

Her story isn’t new to the World, nor Carroll County for that matter. Brandi Cochran Mitchell is another terrific example of a resident of The Hill who combined Academics with playing a sport well enough to get to do the same for another four years. Then after graduating from College, you immediately return 🏑 and play it forward.

I understand that Brandi isn’t looking for someone to throw flowers at her feet, in part because she would have to slow down to pick them up. But in a time and place when our Children NEED every advantage they can get, a Role Model is a Role Model and Ron’s little Girl is the definition of that. I would write ✍ even more about Brandi but she took out that restraining oder, so there’s that.

Kayla Goins Nester followed in the footsteps πŸ‘£ of Brandi and look at her go now! Kayla and Adam Nester are going to be a big part of The Hill for quite sometime and we are blessed πŸ™Œ by it.

Cheyenne Strickland Marinus chased Goins by a few years and while its a few miles down the road, she is positioned now for a lifetime of giving to our Children.

Assistant Principal

Adrienne could not get back home quick enough and thanks to an assist from Dr Ben Tickle, not only started teaching but took over the Girls Soccer program that she starred in. The next step was to surround herself with a group of support and now the sky is the limit.

Life should not be about who collects the most prizes, it should be about being fortunate enough to have an opportunity for success and then having the will to succeed. Then once you have achieved it, find others and help them anyway possible !

It’s 6am on a Friday, so our Volleyball 🏐 Coach Cindy Edwards and Star reporter Marion Harris are busy parking cars πŸš— at the Flea Market but still have time to share a thought or two about the season opening sweep of Pulaski County…

Quick turnaround time from getting home from Dublin to working πŸ’ͺat the Flea Market.

Jimmy Buffett recorded the song 🎡, Come Monday, fifty years ago and the line about the Labor Day weekend show is playing in my mind as Marion Harris is joining Coach Cindy Edwards and others from the Volleyball program at the Flea Market. The Labor Day weekend show is getting started and a number of Carroll County High School programs generate much needed cash πŸ’Έ by parking cars on The Hill during the madness.

Marion was in the Gym last night and provided Facebook streaming for the match. Now that he’s up and already running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ alongside Coach, here’s a sample of his thoughts about the team starting out with a “W”.

Two different things stood out for me last night from a parent/fan of the program!!

3rd set Pulaski up 10-8, starting to control this set and then walks in Claire DeHaven, she started serving and a small very quite she’s a freshman started going through many of the Cavalier fans minds!!!  By the time she was done serving it was 20-10 Carroll County.  12 straight service points and the Cavalier fans knew that it was about time to make our way back to the Hill!!!!!

Score is 23-13 Coach Edwards puts in our exchange student from Germany!!! One point goes by and it is now 24-13.  Next point Laiken Burnett sets our exchange student (Jonna) and she puts it down for the match winner!!!! The team goes wild not because of the win but because who scored the final point.  They celebrate as a team for their teammate!!!  It was such an awesome way to end that first match!!!

Thank you Marion ! If Coach wants to add any thoughts as the morning πŸŒ„ plays out, let me know. Kudos to all of the VBers that reported for duty at 6am!

Maybe there’s an Award for whoever is the happiest person on the 6am shift…

Dedicated Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers
The question is with the blurry one of Coach, is she still mad about the Helmet ⛑️ on her head from last year ?

Being that we are going to be down here for the next six days do to a string of Medical appointments, we will do our best to support Volleyball 🏐 as the Blue Devils are set to play a match inside of Cameron Indoor Stadium each of the next three days.

Back for her Senior season over at Ferrum College !

Madison Stockner has graduated πŸŽ“ from Eastern Mennonite University and is now living and working in the Denver, Colorado area..

Friday Night Lights returns for another season as Head Coach Seth Greer and Company look to build on an impressive first season

Our friend, Allen Worrell will be roaming the sidelines tonight up in Christiansburg as Isaiah Easter is set to lead the Cavaliers into battle as the regular season gets underway at 7:00 pm.

Friday nights πŸŒ™ in the Fall have always belonged to the High School game as both the National Football League and NCAA have done their best to leave the day alone.

. Allen will have coverage of the game in The Carroll News and as always, Go Cavs !
