July has ended and we can now begin August with a moment of gratitude πŸ™ towards EVERYONE who helped out with Project : High Jump !

Shawn Montgomery and Kevin DeHaven

Β  There is still work to be done for sure but yesterday afternoon we totaled everything up in the office 🏒 of Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven. Bonus time with the Man of the Hour, Head Track πŸ‘£ and Field Coach, Shawn Montgomery.

A visiting Pastor came to our Church when I was still in High School and he preached a sermon that made a large impression on me. Almost 50 years later, I was able to act out his word play.

There was a three word answer, a four word answer, a five word answer and my favorite, a six word answer – Find a Need and Fill It. Shawn Montgomery had a glaring need in his Cavalier Track program and Thanks to some other incredibly kind folks that joined us, the smaller of the two needs has been filled!

The bigger need is a new Track surface and that one will be tackled by people way above my Pay Grade but this one felt right, from the Git Go!

Brenden Fariss and his qualification for the State Tournament this year was the sign from above that put this effort in motion.

Β  We now have to focus on the Ad that will run in The Carroll News, where we will show Love πŸ’˜ for the folks that dug the deepest ($250.00) but will also list each individual that pitched in along the way.

We will now work with Hagen Giles at Olde Mill Golf Resort β›³ to get the round of golf that the list of participants have earned ( The $100.00 level).

We also need to get a copy of the Basketball πŸ€ Book πŸ“– to the folks in the middle ( $150.00 = Golf β›³ and Book).

A trip to both local businesses who jumped on board to personally say Thank You is on the To Do list as well !

Β Β  My two favorite words to say are Thank You, because it means that someone did something that they did not have to do.

Β  The list here is of decent size and begins with my favorite Dance πŸ’ƒ partner, Tammy Quesenberry and my neighbor out here at Olde Mill, Hagen Giles. Principal Chuck Thompson, AD Kevin DeHaven, Jennifer in Book Keeping and Dr Samantha Reed each played a sizable roll in getting this done. Allen Worrell at the Carroll News did everything we needed from them.

Howard Mayo, Kris Richardson, Travis Osborne, Omega Office 🏒 Supply, Crystal Clear Delivery and our own, Laurel Fork Coconut πŸ₯₯ Telegraph each landed in the Gold level at $250.00. This accounted for $1500.00.

Coming in at $150.00 was Assistant Track Coach Jon Delp βž• Rick and Donna Nester

By my count we have 26 names in the $100.00 category, 16 local and 10 twisted arms from folks involved with OneofUs.Care that live outside of the area.

A great deal of leg 🦡work to get done in the coming weeks but it’s the type of work that is highly enjoyable because it means that you accomplished a Goal !

FIND A NEED & FILL IT !!!!
