Along with today’s Message from Head Coach Howard Mayo ( which explains our Tag Line – one person at a time), we have a bonus Nugget from Ron Cochran about Coach Mayo

Ron explained the story about the day that he first met Coach Mayo( a long, long time ago). They were in a gym and decided to play a game of one on one.

Ron was proud of the fact that he was able to win the initial game but when it was over Mayo suggested playing 2 out of 3. Coach won both games without allowing Ron to score a single point in either….

Jim Croche wrote a song 🎡 long ago about not tugging on Superman’s cape and don’t spit into the wind. After five years here in Carroll County, I think we could add two lines. Don’t exchange elbows with Bolen and don’t challenge Mayo !

Diamonds πŸ’Ž are a Girls Best Friend : Darrin Mathews paints a picture πŸ“· of his connection with the hiring of Rick Nester and what the day in Lynchburg meant to him.

Mr Darrin Mathews took the time to sit down for just over one hour this morning and it was a fun walk down memory lane for both of us. Darrin was the first of five one hour conversations that took place on The Hill today !

Bonus visits with Howard Mayo, Allen Worrell, West Long , Kris Richardson and family πŸ‘ͺ, Paul Nester βž• both Adam and Kayla Nester.

Double Bonus came in the form of a phone conversation with Velvet Leonard and the end of it all.

Very busy day but highly productive. Now the next task will be to translate multiple hours of conversation into what makes it into the Book.
