Happy Mother’s Day to everyone that has been Blessed to hold the title 💓

Carroll County High School has enjoyed its share of one sided victories this season but every now and then it builds confidence to have to scratch out a hard fought victory. That is exactly what happened in the teams 5-4 Three Rivers District victory Saturday afternoon at Floyd County.
The Cavaliers entered the fourth inning trailing 2-0 and playing from behind has been a rarity this season. Carroll County rallied to plate four runs. The best part of the uprising was once again the number of players that played a roll in the uprising.
” I thought offensively tonight it was a battle for us,” said Head Coach Casey Burcham. “Floyd did a tremendous job keeping us off balance at the plate and getting us to chase pitches out of the zone, which is very uncharacteristic of us. That’s something we will need to fix going forward. Credit to Floyd for throwing a great game.”
Dalton Busick did a phenomenal job tonight with both his bat and his glove as he picked up the RBI single in the top of the 7th to score Eli Worrell, and also starting the double play in the 7th that clinched the victory tonight for the Cavaliers. One of the biggest things that CCHS has going for it is the balance of the attack offensively and the depth of the pitching staff.
” Peyton Spencer came in relief tonight earlier than I was hoping and did a great job,” added Burcham. ” Really attacked hitters. Got us out of a few high pressure situations. Very proud of our resilience, but there is much to improve on.”
That is coach speak for Yes, we are pretty good but we can still play better.

Carroll County JV Baseball ⚾️ team earned a win on Saturday afternoon as well but it happened without having to board the Bus. Floyd County notified Carroll County that did not have enough players to field a team.
Both squads will return to action 🎬 next week versus Patrick County High School. The other thing the teams both control their own destiny in the final two weeks of play in their charge to capture both District titles.

From the Coach
Had a few PRs. Corrie was sick today which hurt us. On the positive, all athletes this year have scored points for us as of today.

Floyd has to forfiet the JV game due to lack of players. The JV will not travel to Floyd today. Varsity guys be at high school at 1:30 for BP. I just received this information.
Thank You Coach…
Sorry to hear that the Nester Nine JV Baseball team will miss out on an opportunity to display their skill set today.
