Macie Adkins blazed a Cavalier trail πŸ‘£ over to Southwest Virginia Community College and just like that, the count is up to five as the Smoot twins are set to play Hoops for the Flying Eagles in 2025-2026 !

Two years ago, when Macie Adkins signed to play Softball at Southwest Virginia Community College it sent me in search of a road map. Trying to pin πŸ“Œ point the exact location of the School was ironic because the Flying Eagles are trying hard to put themselves on the map as a player at the Community College level.

Adkins just earned her two year degree and managed to earn Most Valuable Player twice while landing on the Dean’s List from start to finish. The experience went well enough for Adkins that she will continue her education in Cedar Bluff.

Last year, Jabin Talley took his Tennis 🎾 racket to SWCC and just finished up his first season at the School. Talley experienced a unique season with the Flying Eagles, which included filling the role as Player Coach along the way. We are closing in on the next destination for Talley as this is being typed.

This year a trio of Carroll County High School graduates πŸŽ“ are set to follow Adkins and Talley over to SWCC.

.Carlie Beamer will play Softball next season while both Bryce and Brayden Smoot will look to do the same on the Basketball πŸ€ court.

Beamer was part of the singing day Ceremony that took place s couple of weeks ago in the High School Auditorium. The lone Senior on this year’s team made the decision earlier in the season and the actual commitment was a formality. The day was still a great day for the family πŸ‘ͺ.

The decision for the Smoot Brothers has been a work in progress and is lesser known to the general public.

Above – Brayden Smoot with Russell Smoot and Mama Smoot. Below – Bryce Smoot and Tee Jackson after Smoot became the All-Time scoring leader at CCHS.

Β  Brayden is in a busy, busy stretch as graduation πŸŽ“ day just took place and this Thursday is the final opportunity to qualify for the State Track πŸ‘£ and Field meet in Lynchburg next month. Smoot made the trip to Liberty University as a Junior and is within less than one second of punching a return ticket 🎟.

Bryce also just earned his diploma and is ready to continue his basketball career and its only fitting that it takes place alongside his twin Brother and closest friend.

At this rate, Southwest Virginia Community College could turn into the West Hill !

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ to the three latest Cavaliers to earn the right to continue as Student Athletes and also to Head Coach Anthony Barnes & Rick Nester.
