Much has been written this season about just how cohesive the Carroll County High School Varsity Baseball team is under first year Head Coach Casey Burcham. On game nite, the Cavaliers take turns on who delivers when its needed but Thursday night was different as the Cavaliers defeated Grayson County 19-0 in five innings.
The only way to describe the latest victory is by labeling it the ultimate team victory. The 19 runs scored were spread across 9 Cavaliers and the 16 RBIS were divided by 9 players. The 16 hits ? 11 members of the roster participated in that effort.
The five innings of shut out ball was divided by three different pitchers that Burcham sent out to the mound.
” IΒ thought our approach at the plate was phenomenal through the first few innings of the game,” said Coach Burcham. ” We put the ball in play hard tonight, and did a great job when we were in 2 strike situations. Peyton, Wyatt, and Reid all threw the tonight with confidence and did a great job of pounding the strike zone.Really an overall complete game by the guys tonight,” added Burcham.

Cage Nicholson led the hit parade with 3 base knocks and Dalton Busick had the pleasure of delivering a Grand Slam in one of the big innings. But as the Head Coach said, it was a total team effort.
The one loss Cavaliers will travel over to Floyd County on Saturday afternoon to face the Buffalo π. The Nester Nine JV team also remained once beaten, heading over to Independence and defeating the Blue Devils by a 10-0 score.

If you see Hernandez π on The Hill tomorrow, make sure to tell him, I heard about what you did on the Pitch !!!!
Thank You Ronnie Collins for capturing both the pic and the video !!! Harper Parnell in front of Christian Hernandez.
