Wow, is it just me, or is Mr Casey Burcham on Fire πŸ”₯ right now !

The Hill – Carroll County High School Baseball ⚾️ Coach Casey Burcham patiently awaited his turn to fulfill his dream of running the Baseball program that he once 🌟⭐ stared at. Now, as we have reached the second half of the initial season, it’s time to reflect on just how much Burcham has accomplished.

It is worth mentioning that the program was far from despair with Burcham in the number two spot, under the guidance of now Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven. The Junior Varsity team is the five time defending champions and the Varsity program has found recent success on the field as well.

I remember writing ✍ about how I compared Burcham to Mike Young at Virginia Tech University. The thought process being that Young would be at his dream job as long as he was welcome.

Burcham and Steve Combs have been busy as Combs slid up into the #2 spot held previously by Burcham. One cannot make a list of accomplishments without starting with the building of the Indoor Hitting Center but the list doesn’t stop at the one HUGE endeavor.

Bill Worrell Field is alive and well these days and everyone with a connection to the facility is enjoying the rebirth. Yes, the Castle 🏰 on The Hill is magnificent but lets discuss the improved stands in place and the fact that there are banners hanging from one end of the park to the other end.

When times are tough, folks want to remember the good old days. There are no shortage of people who have ties to Worrell Field and Burcham is making it possible for everyone to share in the new look Cavaliers.

The Board

The level of Baseball being played, both on The Hill and on the road is proof to the ” ownership ” of the program. The two top teams currently sit near 30 combined victories against just two losses. They are winning as teams and when they fall short, which is rare, they lose as a team.

One can measure a program by a number of ways, with one being the number of people that are actively involved in helping it grow. Burcham has that part covered as well, just notice the number of Fathers in and around the program on a full time basis.

Family πŸ‘ͺ is a key πŸ”‘ part of the equation and there are three generations of Burchams involved in game day operations. The coolest part of the World that Burcham has created in less than just one year is just how humble he has remained through the process. One day at a time, one game at a time.

Burchams Bunch are winning ballgames and its not dependent upon one star carrying the team. The fact that the Nester Nine JV is built the exact same way is beyond impressive πŸ‘.

It’s hard to start a list of things that Burcham has done inside of his first season but its in part to the folks that he has surrounding him. Quite the team, both on and off the Diamond πŸ’Ž.
