           Great Day for Baseball
-end of the season stinks but it’s Awesome when Alumni stop by the office. Especially when they were major players who established our Golden Bear team Culture…

Baseball ⚾️ is fun right now for Head Coach Casey Burcham and his Cavaliers as they shut down Glenvar 6-0 at Bill Worrell Field Thursday night.

Britt Berrier led the offensive attack, Cody Reece was lights out on the mound and the Cavalier defense made every play there was to make in the teams latest victory, 6-0 over Glenvar.

The team remains undefeated in the Three Rivers District with the victory over the Highlanders and the team hasn’t lost since back on March 21st at Pulaski County.

Berrier proved to be a spark plug from his leadoff spot as the Senior went three for three, including a double, one run scored and two RBIS. Reece helped his own cause by going two of three from the plate with a RBI.

On the mound, the Senior went the distance, allowing just two base hits and one walk while striking out seven Highlanders on the evening.

Burcham is receiving contributions from everyone on his roster and that was the case once again Thursday. Five different Cavaliers scored the six runs and four Cavaliers accounted for the five runs driven in.

“I thought we did a good job tonight of keeping pressure on Glenvar offensively,” said Burcham. ” We ran the bases well and had a great approach at the plate.”

The thing that doesn’t necessarily show up in the box score each night is that the team is cohesive and enjoy playing the game as a team.

” Cody had another phenomenal game on the mound. Did a great job mixing pitches early in counts through the middle innings, and located his fastball very well,” added Burcham. ” I couldn’t be prouder of our effort tonight.”

In the Junior Varsity game at Glenvar, the amazing start for the Adam Nester coached team hit its first speed bump. The Cavaliers suffered their first loss on the season, 5-4 in eight innings.

Both teams will remain off until May 6th when they are set to make their annual trip up to Buchanan to face the Knights.

They both will return to action 🎬 on the 8th with Varsity playing at Bill Worrell Field and the Junior Varsity team heading to Grayson County.

My Co-Hosts !

Welcome 🙏 to the Show as a new friend appears to have arrived at our Site!

The message from Jetpack
8 to Play ▶️

It’s been a while sense someone new has stumbled across our site and stayed around long enough to read enough stories to trigger the Great News Bells 🔔 and Sirens 🚨.

We hope that our new guest or two has enjoyed their time enough that they might want to tell and friend or two.

Our goal here is fairly simple – to find ways to encourage people through a 100% positive manner ! The stories are not altered in regards to results, just in the manner that they are written.

Here is a great example as Carroll County High School Softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader the other day up in The Highlands versus the Cougars.

The dedicated parents made the trek up to AHS to support their Kiddos and Grand Kiddos ❤. This story, which went from our site, to online to The Carroll News and finally NewsBreak, tells the story through a positive light. It allows the Coach an opportunity to speak about what went right instead of just saying, we played – we lost.

Tonight will begin here shortly and we have eight teams set to take the Court, Diamond 💎 and The Pitch. Each team will receive some level of acknowledgment after they are finished competing 💪.

P.S. – the number of emojies used to force humility by not allowing oneself to become to serious about what is designed to be enjoyment.

Tonight is Glenvar night minus ➖ JV Softball, we host Fort Chiswell.
