Monday was the final two games in the Baseball Bonanza hosted by our West Virginia Tech University Golden Bears π».
Our goal through this process is to prove that WVU-T and Linda K Epling Stadium can and should be a major player in the World π of NAIA Baseball. Mission Accomplished by everything that I witnessed !

Fisher College Falcons and our Golden Bears π» split the getaway twin bill. Fisher captured the opener 7-1 and Tech responded by taking the seventh and final game by a score of 11-5.
Final numbers :

The crowd Sunday afternoon was by far the largest of the season, by a wide margin. Our Golden Bears π» highlight came in the ending of a 15 game winning streak that belonged to #2 GGC.
We staged a seven game in two plus days NAIA showcase and it benefited the Schools π« involved as well as the City of Beckley, West Virginia.

Β Jeremy Puckett and his Junior Varsity squad opened the evening with a match against the home standing Buffalo π. The defense on both ends of the pitch were up to the challenge and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Varsity won 4-2 !
Goals scored by:
-Landon Puckett
-Judah Collins
-Giovanni Lopez
-Daniel Torres-Lopez
Assists:
-Landon Puckett had 2
-Samuel Collins had 1
Both teams are set to finally take the pitch at Tommy Thompson Field on Thursday nightπ. The teams have both been road warriors since day one and it was announced earlier today that admission charges will be waived for the Home opener !
Congratulations πππ on the victory and draw and Thursday night will be here before you know it.
The nuts and bolts π©

From Coach McKenzie :
“This afternoon the Varsity Girls Tennis team faced a very talented and well coached Floyd County team. We lost 9-0, but showed improvement in a lot of areas. The main goal right now for us is the little improvements that the girls show me from week to week. One match at a time!”
Fun fact learned tonight about Boy’s Coach Christy Shupe – Coach played Tennis πΎ for two seasons during her time on The Hill !
Both teams are set to return to action π¬ both Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Car π is unpacked and there are stories that need to be written and that will begin at some point, just not yet.
I can tell you that Varsity Softball won 5-1 over Galax and Varsity Boys π¦ Tennis πΎ fell short against an always tough Floyd County team.
West Virginia Tech University closed out our Marathon 2+ days where seven Baseball βΎοΈ games were played and announced with a record of 3-2.
Martin McKenzie and his Girls Tennis πΎ team should be returning from Floyd shortly and we will share those results when we have them. Until then,

Boys Soccer β½οΈ teams are playing in Floyd and we hope to share news when available.
