Casey Burcham and his Varsity Baseball โšพ๏ธ team needed eight innings to take down the Cougars, 3-2.

Coached checked in with both his thoughts and his pitching results.

Getting it Done !

Those are the pitching stance from tonight.

We were paced at the plate by Britt Berrier and Dalton Busick. Both with 2 hits apiece. Went extra innings. Peyton Spencer also drove in Eli Worrell for the winning run in the top of the 8th. Then Peyton shut the door in the bottom of the 8th.

Complete Team effort tonight.

ย  Couldnโ€™t be more proud of them.”

Thanks Coach ! We are pretty proud of them to!!

On a night ๐ŸŒ™ with 14 things to monitor, we begin with a Soccer โšฝ๏ธ Sweep over Patrick County by a combined score of 16-0

Cavalier Soccer โšฝ๏ธ

Sophomore Aden Puckett picked up a Hat ๐Ÿ‘’ Trick during the JV Cavaliers 6-0 victory over Patrick County at Tommy Thompson Field on The Hill Thursday night. Puckett celebrated the feat by being a ball boy for the Varsity March. Humility is a wonderful trait.

Brittany Kinney checked in were her take on the Junior Varsity Girls winning 3-0 tonight over in Stuart.

JV got a big win tonight!

We played so well! Iโ€™m so proud of them.

Three things:

  1. Aaliyah and Dezirae (both new to soccer) scored two of our three goals!
  2. Baya held our top of the diamond strong! She was a big part of our successful night. Sheโ€™s only an 8th grader, but sheโ€™s rocking it!
  3. Chloe (8th grader) is staying strong in the goal. She is so aggressive.
  4. Can you add in โ€ฆ
Sherlyn had our final goal off of a beautiful penalty kick!

Girls Varsity Soccer โšฝ๏ธ improved to 5-2-1 with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Patrick County in Stuart.

Karmen Smith found Callie Harris with a pass, once in each half and Goal Keeper Alexis Sheffey made sure those two goals were enough.

Varsity Boys 5, Patrick County 0 on The Hill.

Forrest Johnson and Company finally played on their home pitch and the group made the most of the opportunity.

Senior Goal Keeper, Christian Hernandez had an evening that most goalies cannot even dream up. Hernandez finished the night with a shutout, a goal and an assist. A Goalie Hat ๐Ÿ‘’ Trick that might be the first in the history of the sport.

The shutout was the easiest of the three as the Cavaliers backline defense was up to the challenge against the Cougars ๐Ÿƒ. With 11:52 remaining in the second half, Hernandez launched the ball three quarters of the field and it hit Daniel Torres – Lรณpez in stride for a highlight reel score.

Junior Sammy Ibarra ( 7:50 – 2nd) put his own special touch on the night when the Junior found the back of the net on a Cavalier Corner.

Lopez also scored a second half goal on a pass from Hez Mejia ( 21:55 – 2nd).

Carroll County looked to be in mid-season form and if it werenโ€™t for the efforts of Patrick County keeper Wheeler Helms, the score would have been even higher.

All four Soccer โšฝ๏ธ teams will enjoy the Easter Break with no matches scheduled until late next week..

Hernandez added the final goal when Landon Puckett was taken down in the box ๐Ÿ“ฆ and Carroll County was awarded a Penalty Kick

The shop is open for the Biggest Night possible as we look to Track 14 Sporting events – 12 CCHS โž• 2 West Virginia Tech – Running ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Blog

At 4:30 pm we can announce one final score and its great news !

Huge win over in Kentucky !!

We will be adding more from now until 9pm so check โœ” back, early and often !

1 result down, 13 to go…

Boys JV Soccer โšฝ๏ธ up 3-0

JV Baseball โšพ๏ธ up 4-0, Bottom 4

JV SOFTBALL, up 8-0 Top 4th

!!!!!!

Aden Puckett nets a Hat ๐Ÿ‘’ Trick in the JV Boys ๐Ÿ‘ฆ 6-0 victory.

7:43 update

Boys ๐Ÿ‘ฆ Varsity Soccer โšฝ๏ธ wins 5-0 !!

Final story from Wednesday night wrap-up includes 10 minutes with Mrs. Tammy Quesenberry on the Football bleachers and Mr Kevin DeHaven on Baseball โšพ๏ธ changes.

Schedule Update

Updated baseball reschedule :

Games at Floyd confirmed for May 10th JV at 2:30 and varsity at 5:00

Still working on the Grayson games

Thank You Sir !

Last night, during the halftime intermission, Mrs Tammy Quesenberry was gracious enough to do an impromptu 10 minute interview about the current status of the Home bleachers.

The highlights include May 1st being the target date for completion of the large project.

ย  Plus, just how important it is to keep folks away from the Home side of the field over the next two weeks. This goes for youth and adults alike. While the project is going to be a monumental upgrade, its not fully secured.

Folks can help out by keeping an eye on anyone who is wondering around near the construction ๐Ÿšง area. We are glad to be playing at home but Safety First !
