History in the making : All twelve Spring teams will compete today as we head into our Easter Break. 10 versus Patrick County and Track & Field head to a Meet at Floyd !

How many Student Athletes will be competing today while wearing the Cavalier colors ? Will it flirt with being 200 ?

The marketing part of the Brain 🧠 envisions all of them standing in uniform at Tommy Thompson Field for a photo πŸ“· taken from above by a drone. Add in a chant of ” We Are Carroll County ” .

Should be a fun, fun day and a very busy scoreboard later. The High School calendar πŸ“… is blank for the next four days so recovery time will be available !

Go Cavs !

The Law firm of Shupe and McKenzie have their Day in (Tennis) court, putting away Galax on Wednesday

Boys Head Coach Christy Shupe and her Tennis  🎾 squad had a little breathing room in their match with the Maroon Tide, winning 7-2 over Galax on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Martin McKenzie and his Girls team was good to the last drop (shot) as they snuck past Galax 5-4.

The Boys flirted with sweeping the six singles matches as the top four cruised to victory.

From Christy: :

” Everybody played well across the board. Our 5 and 6 seed battled the whole time in tightly contested matches. Eli just came up a little short.”

The top two doubles teams added to the lead, ending the match at 7-2.

The Sheetz store on the corner of Electric Avenue and Apperson Drive was the 17th place I checked for a copy of the Wednesday Roanoke Times newspaper πŸ“°.

Β  They were down to just two copies so I now have one for the Easter Family πŸ‘ͺ and one for Coach Anthony Barnes. Once I got started at 10:30 pm, I just wouldn’t stop until I accomplished my mission.

I have stories for Martin McKenzie, Christy Shupe, Adrienne Harris and Brittany Kinney. I promise to produce them sooner than later, just need some sleep πŸ’€…..
