Carroll County opened the season with four consecutive shutout victories in the debut season for Head Coach Adrienne Harris but Monday night π they fell short against a Highlanders squad that is searching for a 3-peat in both the Three Rivers District and Class 2.
The hope of slowing down Glenvar at the start of the game didn’t work out the way Carroll County had hoped as the home team scored two quick goals in the opening minutes. The score at the half was 5-0 and the final 8-0.
CCHS had an opportunity to trim the lead to 2-1 as Callie Harris worked herself free midway through the opening half but was turned away. Glenvar responded with its third goal shortly after and then continued to pull away.
Due to upgrades taking place at Tommy Thompson Field this spring, the team has yet to play a home game thus far. Sitting at 4-1 without playing in front of home fans is an encouraging start to the season and the next match will be a great opportunity for a bounce back tilt.
