We celebrated the memories of Coach Tobes, as he was known to many, throughout the night π and then put a Bow on the evening with a post game ceremony that included visiting Bassett High School π«.
The photos π· above came from Mrs Donna Nester.
We had a Ceremonial First Pitch, Wild Socks that had been gifted by the Toblers to the girls π§ and even snuck in some of the many nicknames that Tobes had given to the Lady Cavaliers.
Among the gifts π presented to the Tobler Family πͺ included a This is Your Life book π put together by Mrs Kayla Nester, a hand stitched quilt that included the signatures of the current Lady Cavaliers by Miss Carlie Beamer and finally a plaque presented by Principal Chuck Thompson that will be mounted on the bricks of the Concession Stand.
Β Each presenter took the time to pen π a brief statement about Coach Tobler and I did my best to tie the entire Ceremony together β€ with some words of my own.
In between all of this we played a softball game that ended in the bottom of the 6th inning when Natalie Burress plated the 13th run πββοΈ in a 13-3 victory over the Bengals. More details will come in the game story later but for this story the folks from Bassett proved to be Top Shelf guests at our party, including a card they presented to the Tobler Family πͺ.
We played a complete game tonight and beat Bassett 15-1. Cody Reece threw four innings striking out 6 and only giving up one hit. Britt Berrier went 2-3 at the plate hitting a grand slam and driving in 4 runs. Cody went 3-4 with 5 RBIβs and also homered tonight.
As a team we collected 12 hits. Complete team win. Back to work on Monday. Thanks , Casey

What does a Head Coach do to celebrate a big victory ? Does he go to the local Steak House or light up a victory cigar ?

In an attempt to limit my personal words tonight about Jeff and Tammy, I reflect back on what we tried to capture as part of our tribute to the Husband who didn’t have the opportunity to say Goodbye to his lifelong bride.
Β We are never guaranteed tomorrow so make sure that you find the time to say I Love You π today.
As I have said numerous times since his passing, my fondest memory of Jeff Tobler is the role played as Husband to Tammy. It’s a throwback story about Love, Respect and Protection of your spouse.
Tonight we celebrate Jeff and Tammy β their family πͺ. We will here from Kayla Nester, Carlie Beamer and Principal Chuck Thompson amongst others.
We will get started shortly after the end of the Softball game. (Roughly 15 minutes).
