March 4th could be a Red Letter Day in the History of Carroll County High School as the Cavaliers will compete for Championships at three different venues…

Winter Calender

MACC is set to compete in Blacksburg on Tuesday while the Boys πŸ‘¦ Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Team will be doing so in Richmond. Now we can add Boys Basketball πŸ€ to the list as the team will be playing somewhere near Western Albemarle, Spotswood or The Hill in a State Quarterfinal.

The day will be really interesting for a trio of Cavaliers as Ethan Richardson, Ethan Edwards and Bradley Dalton have each qualified for two of the three events.

Dalton and Edwards are both Swimmers and Academics while Richardson is Swimming and Basketball πŸ€.

Western Albemarle could be a preferred destination for the Hoops team as it is closest to Richmond but we have to wait and see how the chips fall.

Congratulations to the trio for being a part of two teams that are still competing πŸ‘

Last One of the Night πŸŒ™. Let’s set the Table for the Elite Eight….

Region 3A – Hopewell and New Kent

Region 3B – Meridian and William Monroe

Region 3C – Western Abremarle and Spotswood

Region 3D – Northside and Carroll County High School 🏫 Cavaliers

We will be facing one of the other six listed above next Tuesday night πŸŒ™. The location will depend upon which four teams win and which four do not.

Inside the 2:00 minutes that lifted our Cavaliers to the State Tournament !

The Regional Semi πŸš› Final was destined to come down to the wire and it did just that.

We start the timer at 2:30 remaining because that is when Cody Reece picked up his fourth foul. Shortly after, Cave Spring scored on a lay-up to push their lead to 58-55. The dream season was titering on the brink when the clock ⏰ struck 2:00 remaining and that’s when the Cavaliers put it into overdrive !!!

1:59 – Isaiah Easter drove to the basket 🧺 for two and a foul shot. The Junior missed the free throw but Reece forced a jump ball. Bryce Smoot scored a bucket and on the defensive end CCHS drew a charge.

We entered the final minute leading 59-58 and coming out of a timeout, Bryce Smoot made the play of the season with a steal and a lay-up. Now down 3, Cave Spring forced up a quick triple. After that miss, Bryce connected on two free throws to push the lead out to five and Easter would add the final point on a late free throw.

With their season on the line, Anthony Barnes coached his team to a 9-0 close out and a 64-58 victory !!

Bryce (six points) and Isaiah (3 points) took care of the scoring and all five Cavaliers contributed to the ZER0…

Cave Spring drilled 3 triples in the early stages of the fourth quarter but only managed two field goals the rest of the way. Four points scored over the final 4:07.

The Cavaliers Express will now roll on with a game Saturday afternoon and another Tuesday night πŸŒ™.
