Hey Jerry, Game recap from Bassett this afternoon. We won 6-1. Great team effort from the guys. Ben Phillips threw 4 innings striking out four. Colby Goad threw the final 3 innings for the save also striking out 4. Hitting Colby and Peyton Goad each had two hits apiece. Colby, Camden DeHaven, and Cody Reece all drove in runs tonight. As a team we collect 7 stolen bases. All around good team win tonight. Thanks, Casey

USC-B started playing Softball just over a decade ago and while the campus is in Bluffton, the team plays its homes games in nearby Hardeeville.
Spartanburg Methodist is in town for a mid-week double header and Game 1 just concluded with a much needed victory for the Home team, 8-4.
Softball is in the air as Alan Knight and Rick Nester both begin their 40+ season at the High School level and Duke University is hosting Florida State in Durham this weekend.
The Sand Sharks 🦈 entered the day trying hard to snap a losing streak and did so in the opener. The focus will now be on building a winning streak in the back end of the twin bill.

Sand Sharks 🦈 (cool name) answer back with a three run Triple to right center. Busy first inning … Home team adds a two run 🏃♂️ double to left centerfield, now 5-1 and we have a pitching change for the Pioneers. 24 minutes into the first inning.
30 minute first inning highlighted by following a foul ball that found its way into the snack bar. USCB leads 6-1 after 1 inning.

Senior starting pitcher, Abigail Ramirez from Houston, Texas took a line shot off her body in the top of the first inning but remains in the game. Ramirez has limited the Pioneers to just one run through three full and it was unearned.

Casey Burcham is a few years older than Adrienne Harris but the two former Cavalier Student Athletes are linked together tonight as each will make their Head Coaching debuts.
Burcham will climb on the Bus 🚌 and head over to Bassett High School to lead his Varsity Baseball ⚾️ team against the Bengals. Burcham patiently awaited for his opportunity to lead the Hometown Nine for the first time.
Opportunity knocked when another former Cavalier star 🌟 on the Diamond 💎 vacated the position to take over as our schools Athletic Director position. Exit Kevin DeHaven, enter Casey Burcham. The new Ball Coach immediately started to build the program of his dreams and Burcham is off to a flying start!
Waiting your turn is how one can describe the efforts of Burcham. But in regards to Harris it was perfect timing, thanks in part to the efforts of one Ben Tickle. Long time fixture of Carroll County High School is the best way to describe Tickle bridged the one year gap that allowed Harris to step 🚶♂️ right in to the Top Spot for the Lady Cavaliers Soccer ⚽️ program.
Like Burcham, Harris didn’t wait long before making her first move by getting the dormat Junior Varsity program.
Tonight the Soccer ⚽️ Bus will head up to Dublin as our Cavaliers take the pitch against Pulaski County.
Debuting tonight is not the lone connection for the duo. Both starred as Wasps during their Collegiate careers and Burcham sits in the Emory and Henry Hall of Fame. Playing from 2003-2006, Burcham left his mark on the baseball program there as well.
Harris headed down to E & H after her playing days on the pitch at Tommy Thompson Field.
Tonight we celebrate two Cavaliers turned Wasps turned Cavalier Leaders! Win, Lose or Draw on the pitch and diamond 💎 tonight, we should celebrate the paths these two are on and enjoy the fact they are here to lead our Youth.
Georgia Tech Men fell hard at home to Jacksonville State and Stanford is leading Cal State Northridge 46-29 (Halftime) in the N.I.T but UNC showed up BIG in the First Four game in Dayton versus San Diego State.
Stanford University hangs on, giving the ACC Men a 2-1 mark on opening day.
1pm in Hardeeville will be the site for the Sand Sharks 🦈 double header. USC-B is growing by the minute.
