Β Β Every now and then the inbox π₯ presents an answer to a need and that was the case today as we received goodies from Beth Bouldin and Israel Easter that were meant to share space.
Just a few days ago we featured a story on the night π that Isaiah Easter recorded a very rare High School π« Triple Double. It was my hope to have others lend their voice to the story and a Proud Papa answered the Bell π.
Later in the day Beth Bouldin sent in some pictures π· from a Rec League game that included Easter as an official. I will add that there was a Cody Reece sighting as well but thats for his story.
Please take a look see π π at the Cavalier Combo !
” From an early age Isaiah has had a love of sports that is hard to explain and seeing as how his three older sisters played basketball there was no doubt he would be hooked at an early age.
Β Β Β Ever since he could walk he has been around a gym or basketball watching them play so he got the itch early. He would always walk around the house trying to dribble and being the youngest he would watch his older siblings do the drills.
As Isaiah got older and started pre- school, he would go to practice with me and I would let him do the drills with us. I always told my kids if you want to play basketball and be good at it you better learn to handle the ball and dribble. From then on he would always begin doing these drills and it was my rule no shooting until at least 30 minutes of ball handling. Iβm pretty sure that he and his sisters didnβt always follow these rules but one thing I do know for sure is Isaiahβs love for the game was here to stay.
If you didnβt know our family you would think growing up with three older sisters we would not be a sportsdriven and competitive as we are but not at the Easter Household. Our pick up games would get pretty intense and even still do. I can recall several times where those pick up games at the house led to some punches thrown and bloodshed. They donβt like to lose, and Isaiah is no different.
This love of the game and competitive spirit led to his attitude of wanting to get better everyday. Isaiah has always had the drive to get better and his attitude of knowing and needing what he needs to do is what makes him a great athlete. He knows that he has to not only put in the work but also he has to work harder than everyone else.
Isaiahβs work ethic has grown by leaps and bounds. A few times at a younger age I would have to push him to go do a workout or work on his dribbling or his shot but I can probably count them on my hands. As he has gotten older he has gotten even more determined and after a couple years in middle school football he had two injuries that kept him from playing all but three games in two years.
We had a little come to Jesus meeting. I told him that if he kept getting hurt I donβt know if your body can take it especially when you get older. His response to me was I will grow and get stronger. Little did I know how determined he would be, he started working out for football and started seeing results, then he worked even harder and in the last two years he has transformed his body to be ready to play football and basketball.
Special thanks to Coach Jones and Coach Greer. I attribute his work ethic to his knowledge and love of the game because he knew what he needed to do and is doing it. He not only works hard in sports but his love for the Lord and how he helps at our church is truly amazing.
For his basketball IQ, I can only say that as much as he has been around it, played it, analyzed it, he wants to WIN at all cost. His desire to win and be successful comes from his love of the game, the great attitude he has, and the work he puts into his game shows how determined and how bad he wants to win and be successful.”

Thank You to both Israel Easter and Beth Bouldin β€
