Day #2 of 5 is underway down in Charlotte as Virginia looks to extend its season versus Georgia Tech and North Carolina tries to get on the correct side of the NCAA Bubble

The evening session has two California teams, one from Texas βž• the ‘Cuse from Upstate New York. Plenty of good seats πŸ’Ίwill be available for those games.

North Carolina is not accustomed to playing on Day 2 but the folks running things in Charlotte are sure happy to have them in the House today.

Kudos to the Virginia Cavaliers as they rallied back from the brink to pull within 62-60 in the final seconds. Georgia Tech holds on for the 66-60 (2:08)…

#12 – Notre Dame versus #5 – North Carolina is next up…

North Carolina rolls the Fighting Irish 76-56 in a game that wasn’t ever close. ND is the first of three teams that won πŸ† yesterday afternoon but will struggle with better competition today.

That concludes session 2 of 7 and things will get started again at 7pm.

Syracuse, NY is 727 miles from CLT

Dallas, Texas is 1,026 miles away…

2,690 for Palo Alto ( Stanford)

Cal is 2,706 miles away

These are the four teams playing in the night session….

Thank You for the efforts, Coach Sanchez

Chris Graham breaks it all down in regards to Coach Sanchez…

Stanford University holds on to win the battle of the Golden State !

While the three games on opening day were extremely close, there was little reason to believe that any of the three winners could add a follow up victory on Wednesday.

California was the one team that stayed competitive out of the group and the 8-9 game was still in doubt at the end.

Now its on to Day 3 match-ups where we have chalk as the Top Eight have all advanced. Duke, Clemson and Louisville are locks πŸ” for the Big Dance πŸ’ƒ but the next trio (UNC, Wake and SMU) need a victory Thursday to up their chances.

Day 2 is in the books πŸ“š and now its time for the Games to be played with higher stakes. California and Syracuse pulled minor upsets but for the most part we are right where we thought we would be.

Carroll County High School 🏫 Ladies Soccer ⚽️ program will have a Family πŸ‘ͺ reunion of sorts, tonight at the East River Soccer complex…

Adrienne Harris ( Class of 2019) and Kaylei Newman ( Class of 2020) grew up together, on and off the Soccer pitch at Tommy Thompson Field back in the day.

Β  Not only did the duo play the game at a very high level, they were followed in the game by a trio of younger siblings that did and our still doing for the Lady Cavaliers. How talented are the Harris and Newman sisters ? Last year Ashlyn Newman ( Class of 2024) broke the Cavs All-Time scoring record that had belonged to Adrienne for five years.

Fast Forward to tonight up in West Virginia, as the youngest of the five (Callie Harris) will lace up her cleats for her sister and new Head Coach, Adrienne Harris. Callie just received medical πŸš‘ clearance from the Doctor to play this morning πŸŒ„.

Now, back to Miss Newman, a very impressive young woman πŸ‘§ who is currently working on her Masters after playing at Bluefield University up until last year when she finished earning degree #1.

The scrimmage is being played in the same Soccer park that Newman called home during her collegiate career. Her role this year is the one of Head Coach of the Graham High School 🏫 Co-Ed Junior Varsity soccer team.

The Newman led squad has 20 players, 12 boys πŸ‘¦ and 8 girls πŸ‘§, with many being brand new to the game. They will compete with the revived Lady Cavaliers JV program. Carroll County had been without a JV squad for a few years due to a lack of numbers.

Harris – Newman (alphabetical order) has been the backbone of Carroll County High School soccer ⚽️ for what feels like forever. So it should be of little to no surprise that two of the five have already picked up the torch as Ambassadors to the game that brought them together over a decade ago. Somewhere, Marion Harris is leaning on the words of Golden Bears 🐻 Skipper, Lawrence Nesselrodt.

Ness has a motto of Leave it Better than you found it and while the second generation is just getting started, I think that they will find nothing but the back of the Net.

Welcome πŸ™ to Wednesday Morning πŸŒ„ where we have more Scrimmages and two Basketball πŸ€ teams from the State of California matching up in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament

What sticks out about the Cavs schedule is the 11pm start time for JV Baseball ⚾️. I have heard about Midnight Madness before but not at the High School level ?

The Softball scrimmage report is now complete with pictures πŸ“· and thoughts from Coach Nester, so if you haven’t already seen it, please do so.

Just a couple of the picturesπŸ“·
Two more from the School Board meeting last night πŸŒ™ as Brett Petty was honored and is pictured here with both Dr Mark Burnette and his lovely Bride πŸ‘°

Have yourself a Blessed Wednesday and we will share anything that comes are way !
