Shannon Dalton is Poolside in Richmond and we will be adding to this Post 📫 All – Day Long!!

That’s Ethan Richardson in one and Wyatt Ogle in two…

There will be plenty of post Day coverage so our goal is to have a live feed during and we can do this because we have Shannon Dalton on our Team !

We will be adding throughout…

Medley Relay qualified for finals one spot better than our preliminary seed, but we have to scratch as Ethan Richardson will be headed to basketball soon.

Bradley was at his recent personal best in 200 IM. Finished 19th.

Ethan Edwards has completed his events. 24th in 200 Free, 20th in 100 Fly.

Ethan Richardson is also finished with individual events. 23rd 50 Free, 19th 100 Free.

Wyatt Ogle finished 22nd in 100 backstroke. Bradley Dalton moved up two places to 19th for 100 breaststroke with a new PR.

Both relays qualified for finals, but we have scratched both to send the Ethans and Bradley on to other events. Wyatt will swim finals in 50 Free after lunch.

Only 0.1 seconds between four places. Amazingly close race!

Wyatt was 0.01 away from the A Final He’ll be top seed in the B Finals,In 50 Free

Wyatt Ogle is leaving today with a top ten state finish! He was second in the B Finals and his time actually tied the 8th Place finisher, but the finals format doesn’t advance or drop swimmers out of the heat they placed into from prelims.

This is a great result for Wyatt in one of the hardest races.

There’s just no room for any mistakes in this high stakes sprint race and Wyatt didn’t make any today!

CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Emory & Henry University Women’s Lacrosse Team (1-3) picked up the second win in program history Saturday afternoon as the Wasps took down Truett McConnell University (1-3). E&H scored early and often on their way to a 16-12 win. Sophomore attacker Avery McHargue (Weaverville, N.C.) exploded for a program record seven goals to help the Wasps earn the victory.
The Basics
FINAL SCORE – Emory & Henry 16, Truett McConnell 12
LOCATION – Cleveland, Georgia
VENUE –TMU Lacrosse Complex
RECORDS – Emory & Henry (1-3, 0-2 SAC); Truett McConnell (1-3, 0-0 AAC)
How It Happened

  • TMU was first on the board, but the Wasps responded quickly as senior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) tallied an unassisted goal to level things at one. After another Bears’ goal, Hicks struck again at the 8:14 mark to tie the score once again. Truett McConnell took a temporary 3-2 lead, but the Wasps stormed back with four consecutive goals to jump ahead. Hicks completed her hat trick unassisted with 5:02 left in the period before McHargue converted on a free-position shot to make it 4-3 Wasps. McHargue’s hot hand continued as she scored on an assist from sophomore attacker/midfielder Bethany Beecher (Roanoke, Va.) and registered her third goal on an assist from Hicks to run the E&H advantage to 6-3. TMU drew back within one with a pair of goals, but McHargue rounded out her first-half scoring with a goal with just 32 seconds left on the clock on an assist from Hicks to give the visitors from Emory the 7-5 lead at the halftime break.
    • Emory & Henry picked up where it left off to begin the second half as freshman midfielder Whitney Holland(Rocky Mount, Va.) beat the keeper on an assist from McHargue to make it 8-5. Hicks scored unassisted and McHargue followed with yet another tally on a helper from Hicks to balloon the Wasps’ advantage out to 10-5 with 5:38 left in the third. The Bears got one goal back, but McHargue was not done as she struck once again, assisted by Beecher to push the lead back out to 11-6. Two more TMU goals brought the margin back within three, but McHargue would not be denied on the afternoon as she converted another free-position shot to give E&H the 12-8 lead after three periods. Hicks made it 13-8 with an unassisted score, then sophomore midfielder Natalie Harris (Hillsville, Va.) tallied her first career goal two minutes later to push the lead out to 14-8. After a Bears goal, Holland registered her second of the day to increase the margin to 15-10. TMU threatened to make a comeback with two consecutive scores to draw within three, but Holland completed her hat trick to seal the deal and give Emory & Henry the 16-12 victory.  Emory & Henry Individual Leaders

Then it was Dennis Zimmerman who joyfully listened to my play by play recap of the Night 🌙 during dinner 🍽.

Then it was on to Stanley, Virginia where one of our nine Grandchildren (Melody) scored a career high 8 points in her 10 year old Basketball 🏀 game !!!

Then the focus turned to tomorrow as we will attempt to keep an eye 👁 👀on a number of things…

Shannon Dalton will take us Pool Side in Richmond for the State Championship Swimming 🏊‍♂️ and Diving event.

Just like people track Santa 🎅 on New Years Eve, we will monitor the bizarre 24 hours of Ethan Richardson as he is set to compete in both Richmond and Spotswood.

➕ MACC is in Blacksburg for their Final event, Pappy’s Tennis 🎾 team has a scrimmage at 4:30 pm in Harrisonburg. At 6:00 pm our Friend, Chris Dodson hosts his State QF and we wrap the night 🌙with the Carroll County High School 🏫 Boys 👦Basketball🏀 facing the Spotswood Boys at roughly 7:45pm.

Shannon Dalton will be a busy, busy Lady 👩 tomorrow as will the Richardson Family 👪 and we will do our best to put a positive spin on it all !
