We had a great day at VHSL Regional Speech! We took 3 students, all 3 placed, and all 3 will be going to Super Regionals on March 1st.
Bradley Dalton: 1st Place Extemporaneous
Connor Beasley: 2nd Place Prose
Ian Montgomery: 2nd Place Poetry
PS. All 3 were very anti photogenic, but I promised them ice cream if they did well. I managed to get a couple of sneaky picture of them eating their ice cream, and made them promise to take better pictures at Super Regionals:
The sign above was waiting for us in the lobby this evening and anytime someone goes out of their way for no other reason than they can, we salute them. They even added a touch in the Rooms
Last week the calendar π showed us hosting games in Beckley on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with our guests being Point Park ( Pittsburgh ) and Bluefield State.

Welcome to Kingsport, Tennessee and Hunter Wright Stadium π.
This will be a first on two accounts with the one being us needing Hotel π¨ rooms for a Home game and the other being calling Tennessee home.
The team departed Beckley just after 5pm and should be arriving here shortly. Kingsport will be our home base for right at 43 hours. This means six or seven meals, plenty of energy food and water π§ β two nights π lodging.
The actual games will take place Sunday at 11am, Sunday between 4 and 5 pm, then Monday morning. We will then pack up the Vans and head back to WVU-T early Monday afternoon. The rough estimate for unloading in Beckley will be right at 48 hours from departure.
Fortunately we have both a Wendy’s and a Hardee’s within 100 yards for some food options. The Hampton Inn will cover the two Breakfast meals so that leaves three team meals to plan between now and then.
The ballpark is the same one that belongs to the Kingsport entry in the Appalachian League.
We will do the opposite of Ranger Smith from the days of Yogi as we will absolutely FEED THE BEARS π»..
Kingsport, Tennessee is our home away from home π‘, atleast until Monday nightπ….
