The State Wrestling Championship now has both a when and where question as the VHSL has moved from Plan C to the we will get back to you when we have a Plan D.
Everyone involved with the event has been working hard in hopes of getting it held this weekend, including taking a two day event and folding it into one day.
Moving it to All Day Sunday was next up but now its back to the drawing board as parts of the State continue to try and shovel themselves out of an avalanche of recent snow β.
The Where part comes into play because of the availability of the Salem Civic Center. The building is not the same as your local High School gym where the use is not being shared with a multitude of plays, concerts and other public bookings.
We do know the Who and the What part in this equation. Senior Samuel Collins is trying to win a State Championship for himself, his family, his coach and his school.
If there is an ounce of upside to the extended delay it can be found in it keeps the Wrestling spotlight on and that is a blessing π for the program.
As far as the mental aspect of young Mr Collins, something tells me he is going to be just fine !
Stay tuned…
