Fifteen Minutes with Wrestling Coach West Long is more than enough time to see πŸ‘€ that his Fire πŸ”₯ burns Bright !

Head Coach West Long – by my thought process has the toughest job on The Hill when it comes to running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ a program. This thought process is what pushes me to try my best to assist his efforts whenever possible.

Β  After a big assist from Coach Rick Nester in getting life back in its proper order after our extended absence, I went searching for Coach West and almost didn’t recognize his new look.

Β  The latest obstacle for Coach and his program is the Weather forecast. The team was set to compete on The Hill five times this season with the Crown πŸ‘‘ jewel being a Tournament on Saturday morning.

Β  Long has already lost two of the five home dates πŸ“… and a third one is in danger but the good news is/was that the Big Event still had a Green Light for Saturday. I was / am looking forward to trying to help out with the proceedings but now both of us are reduced to watching πŸ‘€ the weather play out.

Β  The official call πŸ“ž of Yes or No is set to be made at 10:00 Friday morning. While the scheduling has created road blocks this winter, the program has made MAJOR strides on two fronts.

Β  Carroll Wrestling Club is the current name for the monumental part of building a strong program πŸ’ͺ. Having it in place is a Huge success and the fact that there are now five Lady πŸ‘© Cavalier Wrestlers is equally newsworthy for Long & Company.

We are in Year 2 of an 18 year plan and its exciting that visible progress has been made and Long knows that the journey has just begun as far as the Big Picture goes. Long also credits the folks at Abingdon High School 🏫 and Radford High School for positive assistance in getting the ball rolling.

Β  Saturday morning πŸŒ„, Coach Long and his staff, his Wrestlers and myself hope to be in the Gymnasium hosting a CCHS Wrestling event. All we need is a little help from Mother Nature…

Welcome πŸ™ Back to the Greatest Country in the World 🌎!! God Bless America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ™β€, even the Big Apple πŸŽ

Don’t usually get sentimental about anything having to do with New York City but tonight it is the Gateway to Laurel Fork.

Β  Sadly, things are running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ behind here at LGA so the arrival time back in Greensboro naturally falls behind as well.

Β  Not sure when Carroll County will be clear of the Winter weather. It would not appear to be happening in the next 24 hours.

DAY #42/42 might leak into Day #43/42 but one step πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ at a time….

Day #42 of 42 is finally here and a nod to the 1979 song 🎡 by Supertramp – We’ll take the Long Way Home πŸ‘

The schedule for today – weather permitting

A journey that began six weeks ago will draw to a close today, or at least that is the hope. With the weather conditions back home 🏑 it might spill into overtime (Day #43) by the time we complete the drive back from the Greensboro Airport.

The trip home will not be an easy one as the Delta flight back goes thru New York City and then down to the Tar Heel state. Adding New York will bring the State total to 14 while the Country total remains at three with πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ,πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² & πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡§πŸ‡Έ.

Over the past 6 weeks a great deal of life has been experienced. It included a number of milestones and even a tragic end of a Life well before its time.

Completing the decade long Great Bowl πŸ₯£ Chase was a big part of the process and catching up with folks from our lives in so many different locations was priceless.

Crossing the Million Step πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ barrier on Day 39 was meaningful and it is worth adding that later today Linda will break 600,000 herself !

There is one thing that happened during this journey that I have not written about until now. Life is about setting goals for oneself and working πŸ’ͺ to accomplish them.

After reaching the goal of creating a positive thought or two for 365 Days straight I asked myself what would be the next plateau ? The natural answer was to try and reach 500 Days and I hit that milestone on Christmas πŸŽ„ Day.

The celebration of the achievement was pushed back as the focus was turned to paying tribute to the Life of Jeff Tobler. But its a mark that I’m extremely Proud of because it requires the ability to shake off any negative energy that comes your way on a given day.

Life is full of challenges for everyone and my Mission is to try and give people hope while trying πŸ™ to make them smile. Somedays it’s easy, others not so much but I see it as my Job.

I don’t know where the streak will push out to with today making it 514 or so but I will continue with my work until I lose the ability to do so.

Day #1 of being back will take place on a newly appointed National Holiday in honor πŸŽ– of the Life of Jimmy Carter, our former President from Plains, Georgia. I hope that day will end with Galax – CCHS Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball πŸ€ and Swimming πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ.

On that note πŸ“, I hope that we can Wrestle and play Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball πŸ€ tonight as well. It just might pull focus from not having a Winter jacket to wear while I walk to get the pickup truck in the 19Β° weather at GSO.

Duke -Charlotte – Minnesota –  Canada – San Juan Island🏝 – Seattle – Phoenix.St. Geoege, Utah -Las Vegas – Dallas, Tx  Mobile, Alabama – The Hill (for the Service) – Charlotte – Houston – Charlotte – Greensboro – Atlanta –  Jacksonville – Miami – Bahamas – New York – Greensboro – Laurel Fork….

Β  Going to miss the fact that its been warm most of the past two weeks where we have been. But weather aside, looking forward to getting back to the Cows πŸ„ in our Village !
