Riley Leonard’s wristband breaks Google

The last time a Bible verse had this level of impact in College Football 🏈🏈🏈 it was under the eyes πŸ‘€ of Timmy Tebow when he was the quarterback at the University of Florida.

Leonard led his team straight πŸ”₯ down the field, using 18 plays and 9:45 of game time, to give the Fighting Irish a 7-0 lead over the eventual National πŸ† πŸ†πŸ† Champion Ohio State.

I list Tebow as someone who has a great impact on my efforts with our Non-profit organization. Pretty much everything I attempt to do is somehow borrowed from his efforts.

My connection to Leonard is the time the impressive young Man spent playing QB at Duke University. Such a likable young person and clearly capable of being a team leader.

I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Leonard and I hope that someone πŸ™ can fix the internet. I think it might catch on and mare a difference !

Such a wonderful πŸ‘ Surprise tonight in our Inbox πŸ“₯ as Miss Carlie Beamer βœ” in with some Photos πŸ“· from her Camera !!!

Last year Velvet Creed Leonard and I teamed up to purchase a camera βž• accessories for Carlie Beamer in hopes of assisting her desire to pursue a career in photography.

Β  Allen Worrell joined in our efforts as he arranged for her first photo (Carroll County Girls playing at VT) to appear in The Carroll News.

Tonight, our Miss Carlie shared 10 of her latest pics which is exciting for two reasons. The first being that she is chasing the dream and the second being the young ladies in the pictures !

It’s Tuesday morning πŸŒ„ and it’s Cold πŸ₯Ά outside. Really, really cold πŸ₯Ά outside…..

When you wake ⏰ up everyday with the hopes of making someone smile, its hard to do when you’re fighting just to stay warm inside your own house 🏠.

  But let’s try anyway…..

The High School 🏫 calendar πŸ“… that are Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Teams are set to complete later today up in Salem. Once again, this group has been finding success in the Pool this season and we enjoy the data that we receive from Shannon Dalton after the meets.

Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball πŸ€ looks to get back on the court tomorrow night πŸŒ™ up in Radford in the Bobcats den.

Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball πŸ€ hopes to play Thursday night πŸŒ™ on The Hill as they look to add to their 12-0 start.

Both of those events will open with Junior Varsity teams playing after a victory. The Boys JV are smoking hot πŸ”₯ right now and the Girls JV earned a “W” in their last outing, playing up in the Highlands.

Β  The Girls πŸ‘§ will be hosting Alleghany on Friday and the Boys welcome Galax to The Hill on Saturday afternoon.

West Long and his Wrestlers look to head down to Abingdon on Wednesday evening. Also, Coach and Kevin DeHaven are still working on getting a Home date on the calendar for the Wrestling team.

MACC is slated to compete on the 23rd and they will be looking to build on an impressive start to their season.

There’s somethings to look forward to and just as Cody Reece did at Patrick County the other night when he was surrounded by oversized individuals. He simply thought BIG –

So, as we battle the artic air, just borrow a page from Cody – think warm !

It went from 9:45 to the stroke of Midnight in a blink of an eye πŸ‘

Notre Dame took the opening drive and marched straight down the field. Former Duke University Quarterback Riley Leonard was at his best during the amazing drive that lasted 18 plays and took 9 minutes and 45 seconds of the clock ⏰.

It was fitting that Leonard capped off the drive himself by scoring the TD. It was his 9th carry on the textbook trip down the field and it took place on the biggest stage in College Football 🏈🏈🏈.

Leonard is not the typical 6’5 QB with a cannon for an arm. He is just a tough as nails young man from Alabama that believes in God and himself. The last time I watched a player wearing the colors of my favorite team switched jerseys was 30 years ago when Mark Pope left the University of Washington after his sophomore season. Pope went to Kentucky in search of a bigger stage and an opportunity to compete for a Natty.

Pope went on to cut down the nets and his journey has come full circle as he is now the Head Coach of the Big Blue in Lexington.

Leonard lost his second game wearing the Golden helmet. To make matters worse, it took place in South Bend against Northern Illinois University. The nay sayers were lined up in groves to rip apart Leonard and his Coach Marcus Freeman.

How did they respond ? 13 straight wins, including 3 in the post season. It was obvious to me that at some point the clock ⏰ would strike Midnight for our guy πŸ‘¦and his Coach. With that said, I was a little surprised by the fact it went from 9:45 to Midnight as quickly as it did.

I have no ties to Notre Dame other than Leonard and the fact that its easy to pull for Freeman. At this point OSU has scored on four straight drives and I don’t see it slowing down in the remaining 27 minutes.

Congratulations to Ohio State for being the first team to win four straight Post Season games in the new era of College Playoffs. My wife was born and raised in Ohio so there’s that βž• I am sure that they are having fun at the Smoot house 🏠 tonight.

Thank You Riley Leonard, for giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch a Duke University QB play in a National Championship game!

Just like when Pope left Seattle, you have two choices – pull for the young man or pull against him. That’s a no brainer in my World.

What’s next for Leonard after tonight ? I am sure that people will tell him that if he wants to play on Sunday he will need to switch positions. It’s been fun to watch him the past few years and for 9:45 tonight it was a ferry tale…

255 yards passing, 40 yards rushing and 3 Touchdowns. Not bad, not enough, but not bad at all…
