Tonight was hard fought on a lot of fronts. All Around had a lot of obscure facts that kept answers at bay and scores low. Connor Beasley was able to secure the win in toss up. English was out to an early lead and played with much more confidence tonight.
Math took the lead and ran with it. Ethan Edwards had several personal points in toss up. Science played close for part of directed, but finally broke away and came close to their season goal of scoring 100 points.
Heartbreak of the night came in Social Studies. The team was fresh off a win against Galax (who hadn’t lost in over two years), but fell tonight in a flurry of pirate and geography questions that went unanswered. Amid the comeback attempt, Jacob Roberts had his best personal night ever, nailing multiple toss ups.
Senior night is up next at our last home meet on Thursday. We’ll be hosting Grayson County in the auditorium at 6 pm, senior recognitions at 5:45 pm.
