Friday will present four opportunities to say Go Cavaliers as Both Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Teams and Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball πŸ€ will be in action 🎬 tonight !

Alleghany High School 🏫 makes the drive down and over this evening and each time I have to wonder if their fan base gets as excited about ” The Drive” as we do ?

By comparison, our Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Teams will have a relatively easy drive πŸš— as they are set to compete up in Wytheville tonight at the Community College.

Β  We will do our best to scoop up as much coverage on all four teams as we can find later on as these events play out.

Have yourself a Blessed Day and whenever possible, choose Kindness !

Elon University set to face Delaware on the road tonight after securing 2nd place in the 12 team Colonial Athletic Association…

Elon University is enjoying some success on the court and the current CAA standings reflect it. CCHS career Scoring leader, Alyssa Ervin continues to pick up steam in her effort to edge closer to a long-term spot in the rotation in her Freshman year.

We will make a point to circle πŸ”΅ back on this one by posting the results of the contest.

We will wrap up the Night πŸŒ™ with  MACC Attack as Mrs Shannon Dalton was sharing the Building tonight…

Β Β

Two hard fought victories and some losses that were closer than the scores reflect in our matches against Galax tonight.

All-Around: CCHS 38 – Galax 70
English: CCHS 25 ‐ Galax 50
Math: CCHS 38 – Galax 65
Science: CCHS 55 ‐ Galax 45
Social Studies: CCHS 70 ‐ Galax 68

We’re on the road next week on Tuesday against Fort Chiswell and home on Thursday against Grayson. Come out and play trivia with us!

Β Β  The Math team had pulled back into a tie game situation before the balance unfortunately tipped in Galax’s direction in the last half of the toss up round.

Science stayed uncomfortably close, but Connor Beasley was able to pull through with toss up points to secure the win.

Tonight’s questions stumped both Science teams, both perennial Science powerhouses.English had a difficult directed round with novels giving them trouble, but they rallied in toss up behind buzzes from Jack Wright and Trenton Newman.

The rally was just a little too late to catch Galax. Bradley Dalton and Jacob Talbert held down the majority of the toss up points to edge out Galax by two points.

Social Studies was a tight round. 150 is a perfect score and the final score added up to 138… meaning only two questions went unanswered in the whole match.

And if you’re new to MACC and wondering, questions are worth five points and you lose two points if you buzz in early with a wrong answer.

And sometimes those two points really matter!

Thank You Mrs. Dalton for taking the time to keep us in the know !

Quick update on March 2nd : Mr Chuck Thompson will be joining our piece on Casey Burcham βž• Dr Mark Burnette will be partaking in our Town Hall meeting at 3pm

Very excited to report that both Principal Chuck Thompson (6 parts) and Dr Mark Burnette ( 3 parts) have both agreed to expand their roles in our upcoming Banquet πŸ‘.

Β  This year it was our main Goal to move our focus back to its original target, Education. These two having larger roles with Dr. Oliver McBride (4 parts) all now on board, I believe that the message will become more focused.

We are zeroing in on the final touches and its getting more exciting by the day!
