Each year we create a keepsake Ticket π and the screen shots above will become this years version. Ron Cochran at Omega will be creating these for the 3rd straight year.
Here is the Lineup for the Day :
From 3 pm to 4pm I will be borrowing a page from Tauren Wells by hosting a Q & A session in which I will happily Answer any questions that someone wants to ask of me, about any part of what I do. This session is open to anyone interested in learning more about the past 5 years. No ticket required for this and it will be a great test to my Claim to transparency.
Β At 4:00 pm SHARP we will begin our program. We are hoping that all of the invitees will be there and seated so we can start on time.
Β In regards to dress, we encourage people to look sharpe / pretty but I promise you nobody will be turned away for lack of proper attire. One of the goals is to give folks an opportunity to look their best outside of a Church or Funeral Parlor but once again, don’t require it.
There will be four lengthy Celebrations, one Tribute and roughly a couple of dozen heartfelt β₯ acknowledgements to people that have contributed their time to our cause in the past 12 months.
Β In order, the Tribute to our retiring School Leader, Dr. Burnette will be in the leadoff position. Last year we saluted the career of retiring Athletic Director, Darrin Mathews and this will follow along those same lines. Dr. Oliver McBride, Principal Chuck Thompson and recently retired Mathews will each play a role in this.
Β We will sprinkle in the minor acknowledges here and there before beginning our Awarding the 2nd Annual Kevin Burress Humanitarian Award which will be going to Vickey Ritchie. Burress will be on hand for the actual Hardware that goes with this honor π and we have a Top Shelf team assembled to pay tribute including Dr Burnette, Marion Harris, Brandi Cochran, Dr Samantha Reed and Chuck Thompson.
Β Dinner will begin at 5pm and Mr Travis Osborne will hopefully be in the House to Bless the Meal. Travis is one of many who will have to make their way back from Travel Volleyball π in Blacksburg earlier that day.
Β Next up will be the ultra π cool block of time where we salute the duo that I like to call Casey & Combs. This segment will be something never done before and should be very memberable. Folks involved with this will be Casey Burcham, Steve Combs, Rick Nester and a group of hard working πͺ journalists !
Β Next up will be a tribute to the Laurel Fork duo of Mr Paul Nester and Mr Donald Dalton. We will be showing our immeasurable gratitude for their efforts this year by presenting our prestigious John Culp Person of the Year award.
Β We look forward to hearing from my Co-Host, Kris Richardson β Rick Nester β Paula Richardson β Chuck Thompson and Paul himself will explain the lifetime connection with he and Donald.
Your list of folks prepared to shine a light here are Hagen Giles, Dr McBride, Chuck Thompson and myself.
Once again we will create a livestream of the event so that anyone interested can watch from home π‘.
Some of the other folks not listed above who will be acknowledged include Velvet Leonard, Shannon Dalton, Donna Nester, Kevin Burress, Marion Harris, Mama Smoot and our Rookie of the Year Award going to newcomer Bill Gallimore π. (We might set an unbreakable record in regards to oldest Rookie of the Year with this one.π)
Rick Nester, Cindy Edwards and Anthony Barnes will each have a moment in the Sun.
There are two invitees that are still pending in the Father & Son team of Eddie and Dakota Walls & Beth Bouldin. Each of these folks were willing to jump on the always moving Train π.
Β Rick Nester will lead a Moment of Silence in honor of Mr. Jeff Tobler.
Β Β We have other nips and tucks to straighten out, but that’s the beauty of Staging a Production that is 100% built on our Platform !
If your name appears in this story and you have any questions π please reach out to me. Also, PLEASE know that if your name appears here that you have made a difference !
