Mrs. Shannon Dalton educates us on Competive Education !

This was a play-in for NAQT’s national championships, but on half power, we were just outside the top three. We’ll have to try again next year.

It was a fridgedly cold day for the last SWATA tournament of the season at the Richlands Tornado Invitational. We had really been looking forward to this event and we hate that the unexpected snow squalls kept half our players at home, but we made the most of the day with some great games and great individual performances.

Carroll A: Bradley Dalton, Garrison Wheatley, Trenton Newman, and Terry Woods.

Carroll B: Joey Rash-Rowland, Cameron Cooke, and Griffin Wheatley.

Carroll A ended the prelims at 5-2 in a three-way tie for 4th. The tie was broken by bonus points, which sent the team into finals in 6th and they split finals 1-1.

Carroll B had a deceptively low ranking as their points earned were higher than several teams above them and after the re-seeding for finals, the team won both rounds.

Tornado Invitational All-Stars (top individual scores):
Bradley Dalton – 8th Place
Garrison Wheatley – 12th Place

Joey Rash-Rowland just missed the top, finishing in 15th Place.

Up next will be the start of MACC season on Jan. 13 at Rural Retreat.

Thank You Mrs Dalton for helping us keep our readers in the know !

Β  We expect that Connor Beasley, Bradley Dalton, Garrison Wheatley, and Joey Rash-Rowland will be invited to the SWATA Solo Tournament in March, where there are no teams. Everyone plays for themselves. Other CCHS players may join them. Sadie Spence, Jake Talbert, and Jacob Roberts would certainly be on the radar for this best of the best event. After the invites, it’s open to any player who wants to take the challenge!
