JV Basketball 🏀 played in front of a nice Home 🏡 crowd on The Hill and took care of Bidness !

Going to use our Dinner 🍽 break to try and play some catch-up.

Bill Gallimore was in the Gymnasium for the Junior Varsity Boys 👦 game and he sent in updates.

The first thing Bill noticed was the nice crowd on The Hill !
Congratulations 👏👏👏 on the wire 2 wire victory that puts the team at 3-3.

Head Coach Jason Stockner coached his team, then helped with the Varsity game and is now working the Night Shift.

  We will swing back and add his thoughts and book 📖 later on!

From Coach Stockner :

” Physical game tonight but we kept plugging away and pulled ahead in the third. The start of the third quarter was definitely the difference tonight. We forced turnovers and converted them into points. We need to be better at the foul line and we cannot let an opponent make 7 threes on us. Good win to go into the Christmas holiday.”

Trio of players finished up in double figures led by Hayden Jackson with 19 points. Both Dane Leonard and Colton Gravely tallied 11 points.

  Chanson Rakes (8 points) ➕ Eli Lark & Conner Reece (2 each) rounded out the scoring.

  The team levels it record at 3-3 heading into the Christmas 🎄 Break.

Practice Jump Balls in an attempt to keep up with Bill Gallimore…Buccaneers and Thunderbirds are underway in Cedar City!

2pm – Mountain ⛰ Time….

The Thunderbirds have a rather noticeable height advantage in this one.

Back home 🏡 we have three Basketball 🏀 games to keep an eye on. Both Boys 👦 are hosting Fort Chiswell while the Girls 👧Varsity team is set to play its third game in three days up at The Fort.

Park University – Gilbert is a N.A.I.A school located in Gilbert, Arizona. They are playing just their game this season and won’t play again until next Friday.

The first quarter is winding down with SUU leading 22-12 (2:19)

The combination of Winter Break for the Students and 2pm Tip on a work day has limited the crowd considerably.

 

SUU is making full line changes, bringing in five new players at a time. The lead is now 38-15, halfway through the 2nd quarter.

The Bucs have made a trio of 3-pointers to raise their spirits a bit. 12 of the 14 SUU players dressed have seen action 🎬.
