Alyssa Ervin and Elon University are about to tipoff against #5 Southern California and JuJ u Watkins !! High Noon in the Wild, Wild West…

Carroll County graduate ๐ŸŽ“ Alyssa Ervin is just minutes away from playing a game against a Top #5 team that is led by a All-American in JuJu Watkins.

There are no guarantees that the two of them will share the floor much across the  40 minutes but the story is a story on its own merit.

Getting on an โœˆ๐Ÿ›ฉ and flying across Country is fun on its own ( having just done it again) and the team is staying in the Greater Los Angeles area until at least Thursday as they are set to play at California – Long Beach as well.

5’11 Freshman Alyssa Ervin

We will keep an eye ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘€ on this contest while riding the Airport Shuttle down to Sea-Tac Airport.

Sea-Tac to Phoenix to St George, Utah today.

Here’s hoping that Elon University can make a stand today against the Trojans and that Ervin gets an opportunity to share the floor with a young lady ๐Ÿ‘ฉthat could chase down Caitlin Clark.

  12:21 – Game is showing Delayed ???

Seven minutes of floor time and 1 rebound, 1 Field Goal attempt on the afternoon.

The team will remain in Southern California until playing again on Thursday afternoon versus California – Long Beach โ›ฑ State.

Dublin – Carroll County High School completed the season sweep over Pulaski County Saturday afternoon in Dublin, winning the non-district contest 84-69.

ย  Bryce Smoot dropped a season high 32 points to lead CCHS (4-0) but the Senior guard received ample help from his front court. Cody Reece poured in a career high 24 points and Junior Isaiah Easter netted 13 points.

Bryce Smoot broke a 30-30 tie just before the halftime buzzer and the Cavaliers never looked back. Head Coach Anthony Barnes watched his team score 52 points in 16 minutes of play across the second half.

” What a dog fight up to half, we know that everyone wants to knock us off and we just keep nose to grind stone,” said Barnes. ” Tonight we rode the Reece train , he completely took over in the paint the way old high school ball used to be played , the Bryce Smoot come unhinged attacking the back,ย  slipping dipping and finishing.ย  We still get stale at times on offense and need to cleanup our free-throws.”

The charity stripe might have been the lone downside for Carroll County as the team collectively shot 67% from the field for the contest. While Bryce was able to create a number of his own shots, Reece received a great deal of help from Brayden Smoot and his ability to penatrate, then dish.

” Unforseen game on both ends by Brayden Smoot, unselfish and just down right gritty and tough,” Barnes added. “Trace Reavis continues to come in and give solid minutes.ย  The Cavalier train is starting to roll down the tracks and its such a blessing to be apart of.ย  HOW ABOUT THEM CAVS !”

ย  The Cougars were able to stay close during the first half because of their own stretch of red-hot shooting. But after the break it was just one team that was in The Zone.

ย  Ethan Richardson added 8 points while Reavis scored four points for the first time this season. Landon Puckett finished with two points and Brayden Smoot rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

The team finished up with 24 points in the third quarter before adding 28 points in the final frame. The season is only four games old but the unselfish play on the offensive end and tough as nails ๐Ÿ’… defense makes for a fun game for both the players and the fans.

ย  The Cavaliers will look to keep the record unblemished next Wednesday night when they head over  to Chilhowie.

The Junior Varsity fell 63-53 in the second game of the day. Head Coach Jason Stockner breaks down the efforts of his squad.

“We kept it close in the first half and closed out on their shooters well. In the second half we gave Pulaski too many second and third shots on possessions and then we didn’t convert some of our chances,” Stockner said. ” We did cut their lead to single digits late in the fourth quarter but came up short.”

Dane Leonard led the Cavaliers with 18 points and Hayden Jackson joined him in double figures with 11 points.

On a Saturday with 13 stories to chase, we will tie ๐Ÿ‘” five of them together now !

Ronnie & Rebecca Carter McDowell. Our personal lead story was ๐Ÿ‘€ one of our five children and one of our Nine Grandchildren ๐Ÿ’™. Ronnie is the youngest of our nine.
Katie Lam and her Roanoke College squad picked up a Home victory.
Elijah Cox and Randolph fell on the road but the Sophomore netted 10 points !
While Elon University does not play until tomorrow, its kinda Cool that one of our former Lady Cavaliers will be performing out beneath the Hollywood sign ! The team will be staying on the West Coast for a few days with a second game just down I-405 on Thursday afternoon.

ย  The Carroll County High School ๐Ÿซ Girls ๐Ÿ‘ง JV team fell short against a 5-0ย  County squad. The setback for the young team leaves them at 0-4. No need for the score as its our goal to show support for their efforts.

ย  This still leaves Jason Stockner and the JV Boys, West Long and the Wrestling team โž• one Varsity Player Profile. Add in a Gamer due to Allen Worrell.

ย  It has just turned 8pm here on the Island ๐Ÿ, 11 pm back ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ ๐Ÿก with our ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ„.

  Will stop โœ‹ for now….
