Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Mr Ethan Cole Richardson…

  Natalie Burress is a Softball Catcher by trade and a pretty good one at that !

  This Winter she is lacing up her sneakers 👟 for Veteran Head Coach Howard Mayo and the Lady 👩 Cavaliers Basketball 🏀 team.

  Thursday night 🌙 was the second game of the season and Burress led the way with 12 points after dropping a quartet of 3-point shots against Martinsville High School 🏫 on The Hill.

   Carroll County came up just a little short, 39-32 but showed great strides along the way.

  The coolest 😎 part about her effort is that I can already here by Press Box Partner at Cavalier Park telling his Co-Workers at Volvo tomorrow !

 

Carroll County took the opening 8:00 by a score of 12-9 !!

Laynie-Jo Leonard (4 points) and Callie Harris (5 points) fueled the fast start and Natalie Burress finished the scoring off with a 3-pointer.

Martinsville bounced back in the second quarter, capturing the frame 12-3 to take a 21-15 lead into halftime. Leonard tallied two free throws and Madison Coleman added 1 FT.

Burress connects from deep two more times and the Cavs trail 29-21. Kenzie gets her first 2 points and the score is 31-23 after the 3rd quarter.

MHS takes the 3rd by the slimmest of margins, 10-8

Burress opens the 4th quarter with her fourth 3- Ball and Kenzie follows with one of her own to cut it to 31-29.

Lady 👩 Cavs pull even at 31 !!

Martinsville on a 5-0 run 🏃‍♂️ that just became 7-0 and now lead 38-31.

39-32 is your Final Score after Martinsville closes with an 8-1 run 🏃‍♂️. Leonard added a Free Throw for CCHS

Great strides were made tonight by the Lady 👩 Cavaliers !!

The Varsity team is hosting Martinsville but they don’t have a Junior Varsity squad so our JV hosted Mount Airy tonight on The Hill.

Carroll County closed out on a high note

The Lady 👩 Cavaliers captured the fourth quarter by a sore of 9-4!

Mount Airy……. 7…..11…..4….4 – 26

Carroll County…5…. 4….. 1….9 – 19
